Default Help me with a R-compound tire choice.....please

I need new tires and decided to give the new Kumho's a try. I have an ITR, autocross, and previously ran 225/50F and 205/50R in the Victo's. I like the rotation of the mix/match but don't like the taller gearing of the 225/50.

My plan: 225/45F and 205/50R

But a friend suggested: 225/45 all around.

What do u think of his suggestion?

I'm not positive, but I don't think 225's will fit in the rear.

Wait for the smarter guys to respond.

If you plan to stay in DS, then run 225/205. IF you want to win the only choice is Hoosier. If you dont really car and want to save money, then run the Kumho Ecsta V700.

nope....225s will not fit.

Beyond that, the car is not exactly overpowering 205s in the rear. (my setup is 225f 205r)

The wider fronts tend to make the car rotate better, and that is a good thing in a fwd car.
Btw I am talking Hoosiers...no knowledge of Kumhos.

Sorry, misread your question a little. The 225s will not fit on the rear, they rub the rear lower control arm on a stock wheel. However if you change classes and run a different wheel, you will be able to make them fit.

I own a 95 Gs, Is I was asking the same questions a couple of weeks ago. What is the optimum size for integra's 205 50 15 f/r or 225 45 15 f and 205 50 rear? What does it take to run 225 in front?? any rub? spacers from h & R

To run 225s in the front you'll need 5mm H&R spacers.

I purchased my H&R spacers from King Motorsports.

Here is the weird thing about the 225's on an ITR...

I run the 225's up front without spacers. I only rub under full lock which only happens if I am making tight turns to line up for autox or if I spin out.

I have a friend with an ITR (I just asked) who runs 225's all around without spacers and has no problems.

I ran 225-45's all the way around, with H&R 5mm spacers in the rear. 15x7 TE37s with a 43mm offset. I had no prob with rubbing, and I think I could get away without spacers in the rear. I had about 10mm's between the arm and the tire in the rear. The front was fine. The tires used were 225-45 V700's
