My $29 Lawn and garden battery has 310CCA and weighs ~15lbs.
~300 is plenty to start the R
~300 is plenty to start the R
I guess around 310 is the maximum cca made for a lawn and tractor battery, so they are hard to find. I went 5 different places before I found the 310cca.
I put this together a while back
Manufacturer, weight, price, power, retailers
Type1, 13.5 lbs, ~$135, ??CCA / ??CA, ??
Spoon, 13.5 lbs, $??, ??CCA / ??CA, http://www.ipsracing or http://www.randdmotorsports.com
WestCo, ??lbs, $??, ??CCA / ??CA, ??
Dynabatt, 13.5lbs, $135, ??CCA / ??CA, http://www.performancedistributors.com
Odyssey (PC625), 13.2lbs, $??, 265 CCA / 350 CA, http://www.odysseyfactory.com/odybuy.htm

Temperature range
- 40°C (- 40°F) to + 45°C (113°F) for PC 535 & PC 625
- 40°C (- 40°F) to + 80°C (176°F) with metal jacket on all other sizes
Hmmmm the temperature range (operating temperature??) is only max 113F for this battery. It's 101 outside right now, not counting being IN the sun or actually car running/engine bay temps.
If this means something different, please let me know 'cause I'd surely like a lighter battery
