Default Horrible Noise!

I noticed today that after my car sits for a minute when i turn it off then go driving again, i get this pretty bad sounding metal on metal rubbing noise. Kinda sounds like it is comin from the driver side front wheel area. I looked around my wheel and couldnt see anything hanging down or rubbing on my wheel. It almost sounds like the brakes rubbing if they were both metal, cause u can tell it is something turning. Any ideas of what it could be or what to check? I hope it isnt something too bad. thanks for the input

Sounds like the brake warning tab is hitting the rotor. Does it go away when you apply the brakes? If so, you probably need new pads.

yes but if the sound goes away when you hit the brakes
you need to change your pads ASAP.

w/brakes the noise can come and go. it can be grinding hard one sec., and then not grinding the next. i have a sister who keeps up with car maintenance very well, so i have lots of fun experiences.

Yep, mine is making the exact same noise right now. Time for new pads.

DAGNAMBIT!!!! (thats the SC in me comin out) Welp, looks like i find some cheapo pads till i get my good-ol big brake kit with new calipers. Any suggestions on which kit to go with? I was lookin at the fastbrakes/wilwood, AEM, and Baer. (p.s those are in my price range, yes id like something rediculous, but keep it real for me people, im paying for college too)
