I am in the market for a new car, and I was looking at a 08 civic. Would it be possible to tow a Personal Watercraft (about 600 pounds) with one?

 

You would definitely have trouble going up hills. One time I had four people in my car and the trunk packed full of luggage in my LX, we had to go up a hill for probably 1/2 to 1 mile and my car almost did not make it. I had it floored and it was still slowing down fairly quick, I had to keep downshifting so it wouldn't stall

 

It will be fine to tow 600lbs.
My parents have towed more than 600 lbs behind a renault 5 with 70 hp...

 

it should be fine, i towed about 800 lb in my dads old 96 cavalier and that thing has less hp and tq. Just make sure to change oil more often when you are towing and make sure to get the tranny drained and refilled sooner also.

 

I tow a seadoo all the time in my FG2 with no problems.... but I also live in Illinois were there are practically no hills

 

I tow my jetski with my 94 Accord all the time. You should be fine.
