power steering and a/c belt removal, how much did it help?
what kind of improvements does this usually show? the next time i run i am probably taking them off to see what happens. anyone have any before and after removal times? TIA
yeah but the problem is people remove the belts and leave the PS rack in. we all know what hppns when you do that
...for those that dont.. racks that are designed to be used with pressuraized hydrauilics will lock up when not supplied fluid.

Is there really that much to be gained??? The P/S and A/C shouldn't be under load during the 1/4 unless for some reason your car is all over the track??
it helps people have done it and seen results on the dyno .
also the pump wont seize if it still has fluid in the rack . iv had mine off forever now and no probs. but the pump and rack are still in as stock , just took the belt off. . now the ac is diff, i took it all out and drained it .

, ps and ac are over rated. either go fast or be comfortable. . . . . um i rather go fast

I saw great baseline dyno #'s from my GSR with no A/C or P/S. I think in total depending on car, you can free up to 6-7 hp. You are not gaining, just freeing it up. Of course 6-7 is optimistic, but all cars are different. I baselined 159.7 to the wheel with an Injen shorty intake, meienke 2-1/4 inch crimp bent exhaust with a 30 auto zone muffler on a 95 GSR with no A/C or P/S. I think that is a pretty good #
i can totally live without any PS..it makes the steering feel vague and slightly queer. now, A/C..living in texas, you have to be INSANE to PURPOSELY take it off. I don't know about you, but I don't like showing up to places with my back in a pool of water
especially if you work in an office and have to wear nice clothing. I guess you wouldn't mind if you were, say, a grease monkey or a mechanic.....you're just starting your day off early

Hell yea, the AC is good sometimes and power steering is always gay. But who gives a **** they both make ur motor look ugly and the engine bay is way too cluttered with that **** in there. Save the weight and the little power that it eats up and throw it out. I like a car that comes with power steering tho cuz then when you take off the PS it feels harder then a car that doesn't come with it cuz of the different gearing. Oh well
Here's my setup:
95 EX w/ Bonestock B18B. Retained PS (For now) and deleted AC.
With belt - Consistent 15.3-15.4's
Without belt - Consistent 15.1's
