How do I put in my aftermarket water temp gauge?
Get ready for a newbie question! I have an OBDI h22a motor. Is there anyway to put in an aftermarket temperature gauge without throwing a code? If there is which spot on the block do I put the sending unit from my new temperature gauge in?
All help is much appreciated!
Thanks,
Rob

to add to that. The gauge that I purchased only came with the nipple (and wires to make the gauge light up, which I already wired to my dimmer switch).

I got rid of the stock temp gauge. I don't know how you could run a tee because the sender has a little tab that goes out into the coolant flow, and if it was inside a little tee I wouldn't think it would get the right temp not being in the flow..... Tapping another port into the head would probably be best.

if you want to keep the stock temp gauge operational, tap 1/8 NPT threads into the water outlet neck on the front of the head for the new gauge sender.
