Default ★84mm N/A B18c1 Build★

Okay so its been a while since I worked on this thing. I originally posted this in march & didnt have time to work on it until now. I've been having financial problems in the past & just recently moved. Now I set my mind & want the most power out of my set-up. So these are all the parts I've collected for the past year or so & my hp goal is at least to reach 220whp! If I can gain more then I'll take it! lol But seriously I plan on having the head worked on & I have someone personally doing the port & polish. As for the block I have my uncle's shop doing all the machine work! By looking at my parts I own, what other steps can I take to reach my expected goal? What other parts would be recommended? I've been looking into some Skunk2 cams but don't know what set to go for! Also what type of fuel system can I go with? Should I use 370cc injectors? What type of management system can I use? This happens to be my 2nd build which is more extreme than my last setup. I pushed a 2nd gen jdm n/a b16a to do 157whp with some few mods, additional bolt-ons & a Spoon ecu. My buddy did most of my work & I was running straight 14's all day @ LACR. (Car always ran with complete interior))Please give me knowledgable advice! If you have negative feedback please do me a favor & keep it to yourself! I'm looking for help not insults! Thank you!

Whats the compression ratio on those pistons? 11:1?

I don't know if you know, but those BC3+ cams are made for mid range power.. if you're looking for high end power you might need to ditch those.

Well i'm trying out these first & if not I can always switch them out for my other set. I have the Skunk2 Stage 3's as well. But whichever gives me the best numbers will stay & the unlucky ones will go on sale....

I guess that there will be some Buddy Club cams on the market very soon.

Are you serious? Do you really need to try them out and dyno to figure out which will make more power, you do know the BC3's aren't stage 3 cams right?

Yes i'm serious. & yes i'm taking my time to do so! My build, my time, my money! Not to be rude but I take my time. Umm I believe I know the difference between BC Spec 3's & S2S3 cams there buddy. I'm looking for the most reliable numbers... I will be putting the motor together as I myself can take it apart. I don't like to be a bragger, I really don't but i'm not like most who slap on some bolt ons & drive it until I bend a valve or something. I'm tuning it to the motors capability.

That might be a possibility!

Nobody said you were gonna slap your build together or that you aren't capable of building your own motor. But if you really need to dyno BC3 cams vs S2S3 cams to determine which cams will make the most power than by all means, take your time and find out for yourself. Good luck w/ the build

I'm trying to see what will go good with my setup so it can run cherry as my DD... I know I what the S2S3 cams can do, trust me we pushed 215hp on a stock ITR motor. I think I know where your trying to get at but who knows, I might not like the feel of the BC's & switch to S2S3 in a hearbeat. But i'm taking my time with this. & trust me i'll show you thu numbers on this motor prob within a few weeks...

I've heard that most people with 84 bores are happier with BC4's then they are with BC3's. Very similar mid range with much more pronounced top end.

Word, BC3's are great cams for B16 and stock bore GSR's though.

Does an 84mm bore require sleeving the block?

It does for a B18 motor which are only 81mm and should only be bored to 82mm max on stock block. If you got a B20 its already 84mm.

I had some BC3 cams in my old mildly built ITR, and they prouced the same results at the track as my ITR cams. The transition is sooo smooth that i thought my vtec was not working lol.
