Is that a 99-00 hood? Looks like the headlights match up but the space above the grill looks huge. Or is that still the 96-98 grill?

How about when you close the hood? Or is that closed? You might have to adjust your hood latch.

i was messing with my hood latch and saw that if i remove the actual latch the hood fits and lowers enough to close right. has anyone who's done this conversion ever modified the stock latch? i haven't read anything about modding the latch.

that realllllly looks like how my 96-98 cf hood looked when i wanted to see exactly how off it would be on my 99-00 front end.

Absolutely sure its a 99-00 hood?

Yeah man, that looks way too off to be all 99-00 parts. Small adjustments are normal...but not that bad.

I have done this conversion many times. Have you try adjusting your hood to line up? or even messing with your hood dampers? there are the little black thing that are adjustable. It should be on your front frame one on the left and the right. The main important thing is to move parts around to line em so make sure you play around with it. Here a DIY: 96-00 conversion if this might help.

If everything is for sure 99-00. Then its just a matter of playing around with the fitment. The hood, the fenders, and the headlights all can be moved around to adjust. It just looks like such a drastic fitment problem though...Any accidents in this car?

no accidents to the car. it is salvaged but that is due to theft.the whole front end was replaced.i pulled the latch down and it did close a bit more. but right now am at the limit to the adjustment (up and down) i was thinking of drilling the latch make room for more adjustmet. or should i just get a 99-00 hood latch? are there any differences between the core supports with how and where the latch bolts?

yes they are different the bolt are more apart then the 96, the best thing i can say is take your time and play with the fitment.

yes just twist like a regular screw it will adjust the height of your hood. Just play with the frond end and be PATIENT about it. Move things around and try to align everything. You can also pull the hood more froward if you like by adjusting the bolt. Hope this help.

Well that is another option you can take if you want it to come out perfect. It's not really necessary. It's all up to you on what option you want to take. However, the 99 support rad will be more work and cost if you get lucky of finding the parts. When I say costly you would have to cut your original and weld on the new support. And if you don't know how to weld and do body work then your pretty much *** out. Like I said above you can do the other option but just be PATIENT and play with the parts.
