You linked it wrong... click on the picture then copy the URL listed above it, not the URL in the address bar....

You have to up it to we-todd, and then click on your pic there and copy the shortcut. Then you insert the shortcut between [IMG.]and [/IMG.] with no periods.

Bad cam install by a local shop.
I was using Skunks stg II. Those are Wiseco piston

The cam gear was a bit off, maybe a couple of degrees.

Did you get your money back? How much did you pay for the install + parts?

This shop has a tendency not to accept mistakes. I did not pursue them at all. The head has damaged from the valve smashing the combustion chamber. I will be replacing the piston pretty soon as well as buying another head.

Why don't you tell us the shop name, so we can avoid bad installs there....

Shops who don't take responsibility

Damn Carlos, that shop is usually known for good work....and if it was indeed their fault they should take responsibility for it. anyhow, good luck with the new project

If it is indeed their fault, then that's ridiculous, or your made of money, one of the two. They fuckup, they pay. Proving it might be another matter but you could at least try. What is the story anyway? "The cam gear was off a couple teeth" What they didn't run the motor after they built it or what? The pulley slipped?

OUCH. Ive seen something similar to that, only nitrous was used to create the damage, not screwed up timing. That shop should pay because you entrusted them to do the work and do it right. Since they didnt do it right, they are at fault. Seems to me it would be their responsibility to set the timing correctly, especially after installing cam/pistons/etc. i dont care what shop it is, its your money and you should definitely raise hell

At first I thought that was a coin beside the piston. Then I looked a little closer and damn that's a valve bottom with no stem.

WOw that looks like what happend to my motor. But my problem was the timing belt, not the work done. And my head got tore up as well, but not only have I replaced the head, I am havng to replace the block as well.

And this engine failure happen'd when I was cruising @ about 65-70
