Default B20

Aye, just wanted to find out from some EF owners that have done the swap what all was needed to complete the swap...things I have already are shiflinkage, tranny, mounts, and axles/halfshaft, and ECU...basically I just want to swap out my b16 for the B20 and wondering if the just a str8t longblock swap is all thats needed. Thanxs for you guys time

Swap the long block but will need an LS intake manifold (b20 is too big), use non obd distributor (non vtec, 91 LS) and injector plugs for the same year. It's like swapping a B18b with bigger pistons, thats all. You will need a pr4 ecu as well. Ever consider putting the B16 head on the B20 block? CRVtec baby...

The correct distributer to use depends on the ECU you plan to run. If you plan to run a P75 (the most optimal ECU for a B20 out of the box), you can use ANY 1992+ distributer. If the B20 comes with a distributer, this will work fine with any 1992+ ECU. But if you plan to use a 1988-1991 ECU (like a 1990-1991 PR4), you will need a 1990-1991 B18A distributer.

The B20 pulls alot harder than the B16A. But it just does not pull for as long. The net result is a car that is faster off the line but no faster in the quarter mile. Still, it is a great motor. MUCH better than the B18A/B18B. As for using this motor in a 1992 VX, it should wire right up provided you use a 1992-1995 B18A/B18B distributer and injectors.

if you look at some dynos people have been doing with the b20 w/ i/h/e they are making almost b16a hp and a whole lot more tq. they pull quite a bit better times in the quarter too, they would have to.
