Starter Compatability???
I had a b20 with an ls trans until the ls trans took a ****. Now i just put in a b16 s4c (2000 si) trans in my 94 Integra. I'm having some sort of problem, my starter is not engaging the flywheel, is there another starter i need to be compatible with the b16 trans/b20 block combo??? I have a 7lb flywheel and 6 puck race clutch in right now for an ls but i'm pretty sure that is compatible. Do i need a different starter? 2000 si starter? Please help!!!
Btw i haven't worked on cars in almost 2 years and i had the old trans out and the new one in in 2 hours, just had to button little things up. lol alot quicker than i thought, good thing i planned for 3 days!!! lol

first off is the starter making a "click" noise? and are you sure you didnt forget to connect everything to the starter? heres a trick if starter isnt working, get a hammer and beat down on the starter and that shud free it up,give us more detail if you can
yes the starter is clicking but sometimes when i try and turn it over it's kind of delayed. I'll try the beating on the starter but i just don't see that working, not sure tho. Also, are you guys absolutely positive that i can use a 94 ls starter with a 2000 si trans?

im sure the starters are comp. but yes the reason why hitting the starter is effective is because there are brushes inside the starter and sometimes they get stuck and a few good hits will losen it up and work, ive done it before too, its an old trick, sounds like that might be the issue, dont be afraid to hit the starter, just DONT bang the crap outta it
yea i knew about that trick before but didn't think it would work. I ended up cleaning all of the connections with electrical cleaner and banged on the starter a few times and it fired right up but now i have another problem.
I know that i need to bleed my clutch i know that it has air in it. My new problem is that i can put the tranny in 1st gear let out the clutch and the car will not move, i can rev it up and everything and it won't go anywhere. The axles are definately in. Is it possible that bleeding my clutch will solve this problem? I can start the car with the clutch pedal to the floor but it just won't engage in first gear? any help?
