Ok, I have done some searching and havent turned out any results. I just replaced the thermostat 3 days ago. My car is running hot all the time. I have a 99 EM1 and it has the stock B16A2 with a few small mods. Just Intake, and exhaust, and a lightweight flywheel. The problem occurs everytime I drive. I stop at a red light and the temp starts climbing. My relay is out on my fan so I wired up a switch to it so i can flip the fan on when the temp climbs. Well, now the fan is doing no god and at every red light, my car is running very hot. One more thing...my reservoir for coolant is busted. Whenever the radiator gets too hot and overflows i lose that coolant. I know that is bad and i keep it filled up, but should it really be that hot? So basically my question is: What else could be causing this overheating? and Should my radiator overflow everytime I drive? thanks

well, for starters fix the relay for the fan. also, replace your resevoir, you are allowing air into the system which is probably causing the overheating problem.
by the way, did you bleed the coolant system when you added the new thermo?
