Default collector mod

How many of you are running a DC header for a H22a and have done the 2 1/2" collector mod? I have done it and noticed that I can now spin into 3rd gear instead of a chirp (I know this is a stupid way to measure an increase or not). I haven't done any dyno runs yet, But I also notice the A/F meter running a little leaner in the upper RPM range. The car feels a lot faster IMO... Any additional thoughts?

Basically, I had the collector on the B-pipe cut back to almost its widest point and had a piece of 2 1/2" piping welded there instead of the 2". I also had a 2 1/2" flex pipe added as well. I'll try to post a couple of picture later.

are you running some sort of high flow cat? or are you somehow merging it back to fit to the 2" stock cat?

Just checking I should be ordering some stuff this next week so I will pick one up for you. Also I got my new welder so I can hook you up on that also.

I'll post some pics of Mike's 3" Exhuast on Type R later.

Guys, this isn't a bad idea. But what I think you should try to do is not go so big with the tubing at the collector. The secondaries are only 1-3/4" and then dumping into a 2-1/2" tube is a pretty radical jump. Try going with some smaller tubing out of the collector and then stepping it up to your final size.

It will be sold with a sub frame swap.

Or maybe someone with a hybrid.

I would like to see a dyno with the DC modded header. The DC header should make for real nice exhaust flow with a 2.5 dust collector welded on.

So what if we got a transition for the secondaries, to bring it from 1-3/4" to 2 1/2", and then a 2 1/2" collector.
