So I went to install my new pistons, rings, rods ect..

Put the 'b18c' acl rod bearing on my eagle rods, there not wide enough, and they have more space on one side than the other. There not even as wide as the oem ones that are on my factory rods. Any insight on this? It doesn't look right but what do I know.

looks like you have ls rods so you need bearings for an ls

they have .5430 stamped on them, isnt that gsr rod length?

Looks like the rod is a GSR rod, and I know for a fact GSR ACL's are skinnier than the LS ones. Call up Eagle and find out.

i would go with OEM Honda, i had problems with ACL's

GSR Rod length : 5.433

LS Rod Length : 5.394

i'm allmost positive judging from his pictures its an ls rod cause of the width. a gsr rod is skinnier then a ls rod thus why the bearings are skinnier to! heres some pics i took to show you.

Ok first LS rod Vs. GSR rod
Notice the width diff in the caps
both have there own correct bearing

So i guess the biggest question for the OP is what crank do you have?

Hopefully he has a b18b crank, as those rods won't fit on the gsr crank. LS crank/rods ftw, more bearing surface, more rod material, more stroke. If you're not spining to 10k w/NOS, its the wya to go IMO.

What about b16 rods ?

Edit : B16 has the same BE width.

The rod manufacture says I have gsr rods, they also say that the part number of the acl bearings is right.. I don't really know what to do, something isnt right here.

On this topic, will these ACL bearings work with Eagle rods H-Beam for B16?

The parts numbers are:
Connecting Rod Bearing Set Standard Size(4B1910-STD)
Crankshaft Main Bearing Set Standard Size(5M1959-STD)
Thrust Washer Set Standard Size(1T1957-STD)

I have no idea dude you gotta measure for that. Honda OEM bearings are ACL.

Of course they fit on the GSR crank there pins are the same diameter. Don't assemble your motor with that it's not wide enough.

If your bearings look offset like that you need to get those pics to the people saying it's correct, cause that right there is fucked up....

Both the rod and the bearing will fit the diameter of the GSR crankshaft because they have the same big end diameter as a b18a/b and b16.

The rod manufacture is going to replace the rods with new eagle h beams, the rod bearing notches are placed wrong. now I got to pull it all out of the engine, remove the spiral locks [ouch] remove the pistons, send em back for a replacement.

It just sucks about the spiral locks, there a complete bitch and not re usable [so I hear]

kind of off topic but how did you install your spiral locks?

very carefully.. haha, you expand them about 3/4" to 1" like a spring. Feed one end into the slot and spiral it around till it bottoms out. there a bitch

as another person said earlier, OEM bearings are good too, a lot of ppl run OEM bearings on 500-600hp apps, so if you get fed up or impatient you could give the stock bearings a whirl if they are in good shape lol

Honda bearings are ACL .
