Default HELLPPPP. b16a thermostat/gaskets

when changing the thermostat on a b16a: is the 'o-ring' shown in the shop manuals the same as the thermo gasket, or are they two seperate things?

also does anyone know of a good online step by step, preferably with pictures, to do a full gasket/seal rebuid. i'm fond of, but new to b series. thanks.

92-93 Integra GSR parts will work just fine on the B16.

i'm not sure what o-ring you are reffering to but, the thermostat only has one gasket/seal.

no, do yourself a favor and buy a helms manual, and DONT be cheap and buy some other manual, the helms manual is what Honda/acura uses.

having a good manual is priceless, you wont regret it!

+1 on there only being 1 gasket to replace

And also on the manual... You will not regret that investment.

Drain the coolant!
Follow the lower radiator hose to the thermostat housing.
Undo hose clamp and remove hose.
Unbolt the thermostat housing
Once removed, clean the housing and mating surface very good
Clean the block mating surface as well
Install new thermostat gasket with notch up as well as thermostat
It may help to use a little silicon to keep the gasket in place plus it helps the seal.
Bolt the thermostat housing back in
Reattach the hose and clamp
Fill radiator with 50/50 mix antifreeze and water
Start the car
Leave the cap off and watch all the bubbles come out of the radiator
Keep filling the radiator(NOT THE RESERVE TANK) as you see the antifreeze go down. This helps fill system while releasing any air. Been doing this for a few years and its a fool proof way on removing air. I don't like the bleeder screw on the top housing.
Cap it when it stops bubbling
Check housing for leaks since the cap is on and pressure is in the system
