Default My first integra

I made a post a week back regarding a possible integra i was going to get. I didn't get that one but i managed to pick one up yesterday. It's a white 94 ls with 140k. Clean interior, decent body, and no major problems. I love the interior personally and am very excited to put some time into this car.

Couple questions now.

1. My abs light is on, should i just run the code and go from there or is there a known reason it comes on in tegs? I think i read the sensor might just need cleaning.

2. The antenna doesn't lower, so i can either get a new motor or i think i read that people put s2k antennas on. Just wondering opinions on that one. ( i already found a thread in the FAQ)

3. The guy who sold it to me told me that he doesn't use the e brake while parking because he heard that it can affect the rear end. BS ? or is this true.

Thanks everyone.

Welcome to the Integra family! As for the ABS light, it's fairly normal for it to come on and off. On my car it comes on once in awhile. As for the antenna, there's a write-up on http://www.team-integra.net, i'm not quite sure if they have it on h-t. I wouldn't know though, I just completely broke my antenna off since I hardly ever listen to the radio station. As for the guy who said the e-brake will expletive up the rear end, it's all Bs.

Enjoy your integra.

1. read the codes
2. new motor or s2k antenna
3. BS...use your ebrake

You should be using your e-brake often, even if it is an auto. Neglect it and it will most likely seize, causing you to fail inspections and have to fix that POS.

Nice Teg and Welcome to Integras. I have the same problems with my abs and antenna. One day the abs will be on the next it will be off, try and check the brake fluid? It could be low. Keep the Teg clean and maintained and it will last forever.

For the ABS light i would put the car on jack stands and check the pads for uneven wear could be bad caliper making pad stick alittle more then others.

Hey...this is the guy that sold you the car...I mentioned not to use the e brakes because it makes the pad in the rear passenger side stick way too much...I've already had to replace the rotors and pads on that side because of the e brake causing this to happen...good luck with that and everything else you have planned for the car....

by the way...i picked up this white '98 gsr in chicago yesterday....here's the link if you're interested....

As you could see in the last post he said it makes the pad stick too much. Is the tension too tight? Easy fix? Thanks guys

This is most likely due to the fact the rear caliper has gone bad. If replaced im sure it would work properly
