Default Tachometer Reving!

98 honda Prelude..automatic.
Once i hit about 4,000 rps. (Stepping on it, but also while im driven)about where the vtec kicks in. my tach needle jumps up and starts hitting the red line. The car seems like its still kinda going but not fast cuz i believe the red line is backing the car up. I just got my tranny rebuilt but ive had the tranny on it for a while and was not doin it then..Until now!, the problem just came. What do u think it can be?...I changed my ignition Coil. spark Plugs.

You either have a bad ground somewhere or your ICM is failing.
