Default Why am I having so much trouble with coils and icms?

Do I just have bad luck? Just recently, at a track, revving my car caused a slight hesitation. Then on the way home, as soon as the tach would hit approx. 3600rpm...it'd fluctuate back and forth. I'm guessing the ignitor or coil is going bad.....again! It seems like I've gone through too many coils/ignitors/dist.housings over only maybe an 8 month period.

Is this a common problem with b series motors? What can I do? Some buddies say upgrade to an msd ignition w/ external coil (not to mention the coils are cheaper). But even so...my motor is virtually stock (i/h)...I should not be killin coils/ignitors so easily.

Thanks guys,
Rod

Do you see some red dust inside the distributor??? If so then the seal is probably bad and all that dust is affecting the spark. Might also be the wires or plugs.
