Default This is why PLUG & PLAY HIDs SUCK....

BEFORE YOU COMMENT AND JUST LOOK AT THE PRETTY PICTURES READ THE POST!!

I got these used from a member on here who previously had plug and play HIDs installed....not the cheap ones either....they were mcholluch or however you spell it...like 350 bucks. I was taking them apart to do a few minor mods to them and discovered why:
PLUG AND PLAY HIDs SUCK ***** BEYOND THE OTHER WELL KNOWN REASONS(glare, light going everywhere, etc.):

as you can see the bulbs got so hott in there that it started to melt a section and burned up a good amount of the housing

So I ran to pepboys and got some krylon chrome paint...the paint isn't really chrome like the can said, but more of a very reflective silver

masked the area off, sprayed let it dry and here's the finished product:

I'm just hoping the overall quality of lighting is still pretty decent when I put normal bulbs in.

I'm going to assume the other one is like this too, but I don;t know for sure yet

and because it came up several times before a mod cleaned the thread, YES THESE ARE REAL JDM DEL SOL HEADLIGHTS....I just did a restoration how to thread a few day ago on them

if they are I'd hate to see what regular bulbs loose in the mounting points would do

No, you sound like the dumb one here buddy. The previous owner of the headlamps had HID's in them, not him. Have some respect and read with a little more care from now on.

READING OWNS YOUR DUMB ***

IS IT REALLY THIS HARD FOR PEOPLE TO READ?!?!?!?!?!

I thought I put everything in clear enough terms an elementary kid could understand....guess not

I'm just trying to give an informative input on a shitty product that someone else used and how I went about rectifiying the situation as best as possible...WTF?
