Default Ef project w/ 50$ paint

So I did the 50$ paint job, took me a while to get all my body work done. It was painted a glass rustoleum gloss black. Me and my dad painted it with a 75 dollar gun from walmart or something, nothing special with a 50/50 mix of thinner. I thought for just two coats, nothing else it came out well.

opinion? no bad flamers I dont care if you dont like my Takata green JSPL's

* UPDATE * 10/20/07 added all tie bars+ only rear H@R sport springs with another coat of gloss black with all the body work done, only had to use some bondo on side moldings to finish it off

Other than the fact you really need to give me your wheels it looks good. Don't forget to buff the shat out of that stuff. Wet sanding and buffing are your friends.

I'm doing the same thing BTW, spraying the $50 paint, only I'm going white. mmmm..white..

That 600 dollars u spent on the camera coulda went towards a professional paint job

Good job from what i can see tho for only 2 coats, i want to try it myself, but have a feeling it will be a disaster.

Check for gasket leaks. Seems to me you in a rust area. Check for holes in the exhaust system. Up here in new york we do not use salt and in texas where i just moved from we have excessive heat that kills my motors

definitely, gotta get this beast hot before I move to back to the big city and start rolling around the streets in her

+ was thinking about buying some simple like H&S lowering springs? I know stock shocks with swapped springs usually get worn out fast? but my ef only weight like a ton WITH me in it

KEEP SEVERAL COATS OF WAX ON THERE!!!!

That black rustoleum will fade faster than you can imagine. Keep as much wax as you can on the paint and hopefully it will last a while.

Who said seven?

I did the $50 paintjob on my hatch. After spending a ton of time researching though. The dark rustoleum fades like crazy. I don't know if clear will save it either. Worth a try I guess. If you don't clear it, and even if you do, it's an enamel, they look like crap when explosed to the elements, so keep it as waxed as possible. Wax it every time you wash it for three weeks or so 3-4 coats of wax, then once a month after that or more depending on how much time it spends wet/in the sun etc.

Looks good initially, I'm sure it'll get better with some TLC. Definitely not bad for $75.
