I never heard of a black jack, ive heard of a low jack.. which is a tracking device for your car.. I have heard of alarms that you have to enter a code after 10 sec or the car turns off

Yup, made by Clifford in all their higher end alarm. You bascially have to punch in a code EVERYTIME you open the door or else the engine will die in like 30secs. It's use to prevent carjacking, allows the owner to get away safely.

But it's ANNOYING and DANGEROUS, especially if more than one person has access to the car equipped with the blackjack. Even though you may give the code to the valet out, that person might not always enter the code correctly every time he or she opens the door, thus causing the car to shut down. Sometimes in heavy traffic areas....

I know it happen to someone I knew...

yeah Cliffords black jack is in their higher end alarms (I think the Intelliguard 900/9000, Concept 60/6000, etc.. alarms has it)... if the door is opened while the car is on and the driver doesnt enter the secret code it kills the motor and blares the siren and lights I think..

i had BlackJax in my Clifford Concept 400. the first time i forgot to enter the code, my car gave like 5 warning blares [u still have a chance to enter the code] if you dont, the motor shuts off, the siren wails, the lights flash and u CANNOT start the car again until u enter the PIN. IMO its a worthwhile investment, but as Teken stated, u MUST make adjustments to your lifestyle. forget to enter the PIN and it WILL bite u in the butt.

This device will *not* alert you or the other people around you that it is being violated right there on the spot... Only after the vehicle has been taken while in motion will it alert the passer bys of the incident...

Even then, it only looks to be a person with hazard lights on...
What????? Mine shuts the engine down and set the alarm off as soon as they step on the brake. After the intial 30 sec of theft.

Can someone tell me how much these usually cost? Sounds like a worthwhile investment and a little better than just an alarm. Please let me know, thanks.

Blackjack is a game played with cards in which you try to achieve "21"
BlackJAX is a feature made by Clifford that prevents CarJacking.......hehhehe

There was a post a while back about this in which I explained in futher detail about how it works........I'll try to find a link for you.
