Question! Can I put an H22 Head on an
Hey Luders....I have a couple questions for you. 95 Si Lude H23A4 108,000..could I put an h22 head on an h23 engine? Theres an h22 head for $700 and I also wanted to know if h22 rods and pistons would fit into an h23....I was told I should build up my engine rather than swap....
You can swap the h22 head on the h23 block. Their's other things that need to be done too. You might want to try a search first, their have been several topics on this before.
check out http://www.collectiveracing.net There is a list of parts located there on this build-up under general performance. There have been mixed reviews on doing this build up.
The H22A parts don't fit the H23A I don't believe. But the head will bolt on with some modifications. $700 is a touch high, you probably could find one on http://www.thepartstrader.com, or http://www.ebay.com for around $500-$600.
Good luck.
Good luck.
$700 is a good price if that is including a complete head.
but then you'll need to source the intake manifold and tb. fuel rail/injectors, etc.
imho, this conversion is a total waste of money. many mixed reviews as 2point6 has pointed out above.
an h22a jdm longblock can be had for $1500 or less. i'd go that route.
if you can't do any of the motor work yourself, a shop will charge you a good $1000-$1500 in labor alone. parts not included.
