b18b benefit from p73 pistons?
alright, i found an awesome deal on a whole setup for p73 pistons (dont know if they're jdm or usdm), rings, wrist pins, rod main and thrust bearings. i have a '94 LS with just intake and a chipped ecu. just planning on doing bolt ons. would it be worth it for me to get these?
Yes, someone will correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe they are the JDM civic R pistions. You can find out on here if you hit search, but i'm not going to do that for you. And yes you would benifitt it would increase your compression, but you have to be careful it doesn't go up to high. You might want to consider new injectors as enough fuel is crutial when running with with a higher compression. Also valve train and head work would be a good idea. I don't know what your budget is or your compentancy as a mechanic, but there is alot to think about when installing new pistons. Its a great idea to rebuild the whole bottom end when doing this cuz most of the engine will be apart. If you have plans for your car i would get them, you could always sell them if you don't wind up using them and if you are getting a deal then you could make money right?
p73 are itr pistons. usdm or jdm would depend on the letters following the p73. you're going to need a tune after installing them to compensate for the bump in compression, and bigger cams would also compliment nicely. you only need bigger injectors when the stock ones wont flow enough for the hp being made.
Doood,
Seems like you're wicked smart, ha. Wouldn't more fuel help prevent detonation, you wouldn't want to run lean with high compression, right.
Edit.

Beware that if you get ITR or CTR pistons, you will have to mill your connecting rods 1mm each side to make them fit. You would be better off getting JDM B16 Pistons (P30s), as they are a direct fit replacment for your OEM B18B pistons. You will need to get tuned to adjust your A/F ratios. Adjustable FPR would help dial in the AFR along with the software tune. Mate the pistons with a set of cams if you want to really get serious.
P30s would get you up to 11.0:1 CR.

i would hope im a good mechanic, im only a M1 tank mechanic for the marines. haha no but seriously. i wasnt really planning on doing pistons right away. but i just happened to stumble across a good deal. im already aware of needing to tune and getting some nice crower 404's to compliment the nice bump in compression, but i just wanted to get opinions of others whether it would be beneficial to me at this point. and im not really sure which route i want to take still either. part of me wants to build a wicked non vtec Na motor. and the other part of me wants to go back to boost.

stock injectors can actually handle a fair bit of hp. 170-180whp with a slight bump in pressure. but this is running them near their limit.
