Default Just had my Civic Dyno tested.....

Hey guys let me know if this sounds good/Bad or about right....

Setup - 1.6L DOHC ZC engine, Greddy Turbo Kit not intercooled at 5.5 pounds of boost, 89 Integra ECU, High Flow cat, DC enhaust, no internal work or anything like that

test 1

134.9 HP / 120.2 Tourque

Test 2

135.7 HP / 118.7 Tourque

Now I had the guy lay off at 6500 RPM and the Teg ECU goes up to 6,800, I could have probabaly hit 140hp. Does this sound ok? Whats a stock ZC HP to the wheels? Thanks for any help or other Dyno Test #'s,

Is that just dynoing the car, or did you get any tuning done? For reference, there's a guy on the forced induction board he runs a sohc vtec turbo his sn is vtc_civic -keep in mind this is with hondata and tuning

6psi- 180whp
9.5psi- 214.4whp / 183.2tq
10.2psi- 217.7whp

Youre still putting out some nice numbers, not trying to be a jerk or anything, but I would guess it would be a little higher, especially if you got it tuned

Why does everyone turbo the ZC motor? Is that a better choice than running a turbo on a D16a6?

I've never been a huge fan of the ZC, but what kind of numbers will the a6 put down turboed?

I put down 151hp/103tq at the wheels minorly modded b16a, N/A.

I don't see wasting time and money on a ZC, and then even a turbo for a trade off of 15 HP for 15 foot pounds more torque...

DOHC VTEC OWNZ JOO!

That's funny, with only 200 cc's more my 1.8 puts down 182 HP and 132 ft/lb of torque at the wheels. No turbo or NOs
I did spend a lot more though

B series naturally aspirated. the best option. always. how many pro drag racers out there are running ZC turbo's? how many run ZC's? exactly.

Funny thing. My parents haven't contributed one red cent besides $1200 that I paid back ASAP simply because my D motor blew after 2 weeks of purchase of my car, and I spent all my spare money on the downpayment. I did need a car to get to work!

Some people have a wife, a kid, and other cars to worry about also.

I chose to boost my ZC, just because I didnt want to spend that much money on a motor for my Civic. I have three other cars that I work on as well. So dont dog someone just because they dont worship a B16.

Matthew as far as I know the 89 Teg ECU rev line is 6,800, I have 2 friends with Gen 2 Integras and they also said its 6,800. If anyone can prove me wrong on this please do so.

I didnt post this so people can tell me how much they love there B16's. I wanted to know if my #'s sounds about right. Another guy said somone got 130hp from a stock ZC on the dyno. I call bullshit on that!

Well.... Do you just want to be like everyone else and turbo a damn B series?

Yes B series make more power then D at the same boost level.

Why?

-Bigger bore
-Bigger valves
-Higher Rev limit

Making power with a B series at least for those who like to BUILD their own stuff, is about as exciting as an old sock.

Turbo B series have been proven to make great HP at low boost level's. However, this has been proven about 10 bizzilion times. That's really exciting isn't it!!

Here's is why I plan to put down 400HP out of my ZC...

#1 IT'S DIFFERENT!!! I will get more satisfaction out of this then If I payed way less for a stinking B series turbo setup with the same out put.
#2 I won't have people coming up to me, and saying..."HEY!!! He's GOT VTEC!!!" every time I open the hood.
#3 I will have SO much more fun over the next year working at my goal's that only a small few have ever attained, then reaching something that EVERYONE has seen.

I do not speak for ANYONE else on this matter, but the huge sight of the same
"B series with a turbo kit" just makes me sick.

b16a i had in my car..it was quick...but i REALLY wasnt impressed...everybody asked if i had vtec...it got old fast...there is a shop in maryland...that is helping me out with building the zc to hold some boost...and i will have pride and saying that i have no vtec...and watch people faces light up!

I bet he's running rich as hell with only 5.5psi.

Please specify the fuel in-richment method being used.

Intercooler + more boost + better tuning/hard part's = should be around 200
