Default not to start another battle...

My driver side headlight went out today so I ran down to the auto parts store and used their reference book, They seem to only list a 3 door civic. I drive a 2003 civic LX coupe. The bulb size listed was 9003. I grabbed a pair, and snuck a look at the haynes manual to get an idea of how to put the new bulbs in. I basically have two questions, 1) Did I buy the right bulbs for my Civic. 2) How the hell do I get the retainer clips off? Ive lifted out the power steering tank but can't get the clip loose. Any help?

Reading boost junkie's reply I need an H4, also checking sylvania's site it says 9003. I'm starting to get seriously confused.

BTW I drive an 03.

(edited to add year of car)

If its your headlight on an 03, its an H4 bulb. If its the turn signal, I recall it being a M-2 bulb (not 100% sure).

01-03 headlight bulb size is h4 (duel filament).
01-03 headlight turn signal is 7443 (dual filament).

es1/es2 and em2 refer to 01-05 civics.

i never thought that headlights would be this complicated. I finally got them changed out this afternoon. On the bulbs it says 9003/H4.

Thanks for all the help though.
