Default 2000 EM1 - my window will NOT roll all the way up....ideas?

Search is messed up and it's going to rain here in about an hour and I want to get this fixed before it does. I know the 99-00 Civics have the problem with their windows coming off track, and thats what I thought this was until just now.

My window will come almost all the way up, and then sounds like it gets hung and begins to make a loud popping noise over and over again if I continue to hold the power window switch. It's preventing the window from coming all the way up by about a half inch.

I removed my door panel and made sure it was still in track, and it is. I did all the adjusting I knew how to do, but it still has the same problem.

Here goes.

1. Take out all screws holding in the door panel.
2. Pop out tabs holding the door in.
3. Plull back the clear plastic covering the door.
4. Look and see if you window is either off the track and align it up and down and w/ the holes in the door and then loosen the bolts and lift it up until its back in the track and then bolt it back in.

If it wont go up or down after this is fixed etc.. then the motor is out and youll need a new one. You can prolly pull it up yourself temporarily. It works much better w/ to people (one holding the window and one down at the door panel.

They go up and down just fine, i used silicone spray. The drivers side one dosent want to go up all the way. When it gets almost all the way up, I hear a loud popping noise and the window starts jumping around.

This may be a bad motor then.

Yeah, that popping noise is the gear in the motor, they like to break/strip because they're made out of plastic.

*I'm not 100% on Honda using plastic parts but every other power window motor I've seen go out has cheap plastic crap in it.*

Whats involved in replacing it? It seems like a hard area to get access to.

i doubht this is a motor problem...try the silicone spray, if that doesn't work its most likely your window regulater. Replacing it is a breeze, make sure you reasearch a little more before you do the job though. Pm me your email i'll send you a step by step manual.

I think all you have to do is remove the glass, unbolt the rails and motor from the door frame and it slides out if you pull it back towards the rear of the door. Then just change the motor out.
