Default ugh my window fell off the track, help.

ive heard this can be a common problem with 99-00 Sis. today when i closed my door iit sounded like something was loose and rattling around in there. then i tried to put up my window at it would only go half way up. when the window is almost all the way down with just a little part of the glass out of the door you can move the window from side to side like its loose so something is f*cked up.

heres my question. how do i get the interior door panel off. i see a screw inside the little cion tray, but i dont see and screws or anything around the edges. how do i do it?

one screw in the pocket, one screw where the door pull is, one near the inner part of the door(near the fender). the pocket with the window switch comes right out after you take the screw out, then unplug the switches. then slide the cover of the inner door handle. and feel around the edges of the door panel and pull on it until it comes off. Not that hard of a thing to fix, it just sucks that it needs to be fixed.

If you don't feel like doing it, then just take it to Jon at Wallace on Research rd. they will probably charge like 40 bucks though. To rich for my blood.

In my 97 DX hatchy (which may or may not be different), you have to remove 3 screws holding the speaker in, 3 more around it, the one in the coin pocket, the one behind the door pull, and then it's just held on with clips. Don't be afraid to give it a good tug if you have all of those out.

Yeah, just start from the bottom. There are a line of 3-4 of them across the bottom of the door panel, and just pull those out first so you know how hard you have to pull/what it feels like when they come out. They may actually end up stuck in the door (happens to me quite a bit).

eg hatch has three screws only
1 in door pull
1 in coin tray
one right below mirror

you don't even need to take the speaker grill off because the speaker mount attaches directly to the door frame, not the door panel. there will be a bunch of clips holding the door in so start from right below the mirror and tug all along the top part of the door then down. it's easy

i have a 96 ex coupe, very similar car, and very similar problem. this happens to me A LOT. after you get the door off, there is a bolt holding the track for the front of the window, loosen this and push the window back inside and make sure you push that window as far back and as tight as you can. ::knocks on wood:: hasnt happend to me for about 1.5 to 2 months. and good luck. also, search this, i know theres gotta be about 500000000 posts on this and 1 is mine

Also, once you get the window back on track, spray some silicone lubricant in the track. It works wonders. I had problems with my passenger side window falling off quite regularly, and after the lube its been fine for close to a year now.

yeah I agree with the silicone lube, **** works wonders for real. And it will also help when your power windows roll up slow.

Same thing happened to me w/an EX. I ended up just taking the entire glass piece off and putting it back on track. Took about 2 hrs
