My paint project Milano Red EH3 RUST to no rust! 56k eh
I bought the car from a kid down near the city- I could tell it was all bondo'd up but I didnt care. I planned on redoing the body anyways-
After the b20 swap, bodywork started
First I bought new front and rear bumpers, both new fenders, a driver and passenger quarter panel and a driverside door from a yard.
Next step was to weld in the quarters- for this I had to gut the interior and pop off the rear bumper.
After they were all in, came a coat of epoxy primer on the lower portion of the car. This is to prevent rust from coming back on the new metal.
Shaved back emblem
Next, all metal was used to blend the quarters. After the shape was looking good Auto body icing was used to make it perfect, as well as any other dents ect in the car.
Next the bottom was shot with high fill primer to fill any voids ect.
I then skim coated the roof to get rid of any hail dents ect.
then came primer
wetsanding
taping
I will be painting tonite and will give you pictures tomarow!

I sprayed epoxy over the cleaned metal- i was told this will help prevent rust from coming back

Where did you get the patch panels at? I'm looking for quarter panel patches for my 98 hatch, but can't seem to find any available.

I had a gallon of clear from my dads truck, so i just had to buy hardener for that. As for the basecoat, i purchased PPG shopline it was 42 a quart and I ended up laying it on pretty good and used 3 quarts for good coverage. all in all I had about 500 into it with body panels ect ect.
