This might sound dumb, but....the maintenacne required light went on, and the manual for the car says it's a light that goes on every 8000 miles to notify you to go to a dealer for "maintenance", something that I'm know I don't need to go the dealer for.
I know how to check the brakes, tires, power sterring fluid, etc., but I dont know how to get rid of that light.
Help plz?

hold down the trip button while turning key on then keep holding till the light goes out.. that will be $4.95 please

Well, you checked the manual, but maybe you didn't see the section that tells you how to reset the light.
