How much $$$ to get around 200whp
My B18C spec r motor will be in my hatch in about 4 weeks. how much money will i have to spend to get 200whp from this motor? Listing products and prices(and where to get these hopefully great prices) would be very helpful. what times could be expected in a 2150lb car + driver at 4000 ft on stock tires. Its my first post in the itr forum so dont burn me for not finding this in another thread..i looked. thx.
i know that someone wants to answer my Qs. c'mon. you really want to. i know you do. SO DO IT! there is nothing left on the net to look at? this is the only thing i dont know in the whole world.

I'd say you need basic bolt ons, cams/cam gears, fpr, at least a VAFC if not Hondata. Maybe some higher compression pistons?
Not gonna be cheap. I would say minimum 3-4k BEFORE tunning. There are a lot of guys here that would know much more about this though. I'm just guessing because they haven't chimmed in yet.
Edit: that's for NA, the best option IMO.

a stock b18c spec r should dyno at about 165-170 im guessing. all motor for me. otherwise i would have ordered a b16a. any recommended exhausts? i want it to be fairly quiet until WOT. ive read that just advancing the timing about 1.5 degrees gives a little more too. so lets say CAI,Exhaust, cam gears, cams(which are recommended and not *** expensive). what kind of power gains by bumping the comp about .3 with a thinner headgasket. keep it coming. i really appreciate it. one other thing... how safe is a wet 35 shot?

eh forget naaawwzz.
But you will spend some $$ for 200 whp. One thing to always remember when building, its not always just about peak power on a dyno but also your realworld ability to use it. (read: torque) You're gonna need cams, i'd recommend a hondadata as well. I'd say Jun III's and the requisite air/fuel and good bolt ons and you'll be there.
fais-who is still in awe of what he saw JUN III's do at FactorX

I guess Fais has heard this so much over the past two months he knows it by heart!

Edit: if you're gonna take the time to replace the headgasket with a thinner one, you may as well get pistons, because raising it by .2 or .3 isn't going to give you more than a couple HP. That's how it was put to me anyway.

alright then. what kind of boltons, etc. to get in the 13s where i live. living in nepal isnt going to hurt my timeslip is it? higher altitude=less gravity=>faster times? i live at 4k and its going in a 92 vx hb. basically i would like to hit low low 14s or high 13s. i thought 200whp would be reliable. rebuild every year?! really? i thought these motors were bulletproof. why would increasing the hp by about 40 cause it to become that needy? keep the info coming, im all ears. what is the absolute best CAI you guys can recommend? im gonna guess aem or iceman right? which one would fit the itr motor in my 92 hatch. thanks.

I would say, for something good, done right, about 4-5 grand.
Sleeve block, fully built...12:1 compression...
And some valvetrain and cams...
Hondata Stage 2.
Thats the best setup for that car im my mind.
2 liter, type-R
Probably put you like 205-210 WHP.

tres $$$$. i think ill be plenty happy with the stock motor for a long time. so ill stick with that. but i will be getting i/e pretty quick cuz the stock vx exhaust isnt really a good one for a motor that produces more than twice the stock hp. recommended i/e?? keeping in mind sleeper level of loudness until WOT, thanks.
