I have an 01 s and right now I have tein s springs on the stock struts and they are rubbing like mad on all hard turns and u turns because of the fatter tires that I have on the front and rear, but I was just wondering because I want to get coilovers which ones are the best, and the best bang for the buck? Also for you guys who have lowered s2k's does anyone use the driveshaft spacers and how important are they?
I've been doing quite a bit of research on this and the consensus seems to be the Bilstein PSS9 coilvers.

The Bilstein PSS 9 Suspension provides the ultimate in performance tuning. The fully-adjustable monotube gas shock absorbers offer a selection of nine precise compression and rebound settings, from comfort to competition. The front and rear progressive rate springs allow accurate adjustment of the vehicle ride height and center of gravity for the level of performance you seek.
Now you can enjoy the kind of precise suspension tuning formerly available only on race cars. The PSS 9 system puts you in complete control. Whether it's a weekend of competition or the daily commute, absolute handling and control are just a few twists away.

The stock suspension on the S2000 is VERY good already. It's pretty prone to bumpsteer, and many aftermarket suspension setups make it even worse. Try searching on http://www.s2ki.com as there is much more S2000 related traffic than HT. Make sure you search because they are even harder on people who post without searching than Honda-tech.
Good luck.

Hm, interesting indeed. I'm still researching however. I'll definitely look into your choice. I'm also on a quest to get some good coilovers.

how much you trying to spend and what type of performance are you going for? if you want THE best, i figure you DONT CARE for the price because of your thread title. go for Ohlin coilover. expect to pay more than 2500+ for new ones.
Curiouz_G, you beat me ... Ohlins is the best. I saw one featured car with Ohlins before. It costs an arm and a leg.
imo, I'll stick with main steam ones, like TEIN, JIC or Progress. KW V2 is not bad either.
By the way, what's the setup here? What do you expect? JIC will be harsh. Tein got some options, basic, SS. DO you need to adjust the damper also?
and also, decide between the BEST or the BUDGET one

i have Megan Racing Street series and i think they are the best bang for buck coilovers. i also had the track series on the evo.
you can roll the rear fenders to get more clearance for the rear tires. i have a fender roller for rent btw.

A buddy if mine is running the Megan Racing coils - but not on the S2K though. He's had 1 coil go bad in the front, which they warrantied. Then his other one in the front went bad.. which then got warrantied as well. He's not some amateur installer, so that was out of the question! Just from my personal experiences.. I wouldn't go with them at the moment as they're still perfecting their products.
And big ups to the guy that recommended the coil for what it'll be used for. Will you be for show? For track? Everyday use and just lowering the car as you want it? PSS9's handle awesome, but don't go low (bec. Bilstein knows whats up!!). If you want something for lowering your car.. get a kit with adjustability to go stiff or soft. If you're still rubbing.. get a lower profile tire!

I'm running the megan track coilovers, they are definitely not the most expensive or the best but you will get some handling performance and the ability to adjust the height.
I have had no issues with mine and the s2k is my daily. They ride much better then my old setup of stock dampers and tein s-techs.
