Trailer Hitch
Hello I have a 2007 Honda Civic Si and am looking for a trailer hitch. I went to all of the usual places and everything notes ( except Si).
Does anyone know of a hitch for the Si or has anyone put one on one?
Thanks

I think the OP wanted to use the Civic to tow something. I believe those are used by another vehicle with torque to tow the Civic. lol

putting a hitch on a civic si is like putting a baby seat on a bmx bike and takin it to a skate park. it just dont look right. civics arent really supposed to take to much weight. manual says something like 750 lb max in the car... but check out a place that installs them... they can fabricate something to fit. good luck

Sounds like I hit a nerve .......sorry.
The owners manual says the car is good for 1,000 pounds.
Just want something to lug the tires, jack and such to the track.
Obvious a bunch of shine guys here... looking for track people that may understand.

it's not a freakin' luxury car..we drive civics guys.. They aren't trucks, but they aren't that special either.. I've seen s2k's with hitches.. lol.. trailer hitch won't hurt anything, and if it gets his tools and tires to the track then it serves it's purpose.

You really should not get so bent out of shape about it, you will live longer (less stress). lol</TD></TR></TABLE>

It's not going to hurt his car if he is just pulling a small, light trailer. And the only thing he would hurt is his clutch. It's not that uncommon to haul things with a small sedan, just uncoventional.

Question you had from the other thread.....

Does anyone know a good reason to leave that on besides keeping the undercarriage a bit cleaner?</TD></TR></TABLE>
The "COVER, RR. FLOOR (LOWER)" acts as a diffuser. It manages the air flow under the car quite a bit and decreases the drag on your car. You've disturbed the flow a bit with the hitch but you probably will still be better off with the cover back on.

A real track guy would most likely ride on his R compounds all the time. I just drove halfway across the country with my trunk and back seat packed because I wouldnt want to look like a fruitcake with a trailor on an Si. If you try hard enough you can fit anything in the car.

Wouldn't want to rub those tires down too much. Of course if he lives 5 miles away, who cares then
Honestly if you are just taking things to the track, I honestly would suggest something other than a hitch/trailer. Like a friend to carry two tires and jacks, and you carry the other two and supplies. Or get some semi-slicks (or whatever your needed tires are) that are Dot approved, and you don't mind eating them with highway miles. But, yes, the trailer idea would work, just probably not the best idea.

I installed this rack on my fiancee's SI sedan. Fitment was good but a heatshield did have to be trimmed. It isn't even very visible. I'll try to get a picture in the next couple of days.
As for why on an SI....she's a 5'-4" triathlete and needs to transport her bicycle frequently. I'd be an idiot if I had her try to hoist her bike up onto a roof rack. She used a hitch mount rack which she removes when not in use.

I tow jet skis and small motorcycle trailer with my Accord. It wont hurt nothing much. Yes, it will wear things out faster, but a small jetski or a bicycle wont hurt the car none at all.
