Default Hitch for SI

I'm a professional cyclist, and I'm looking for a better way to haul my bike around than folding down the back seats, because 1. It's a pain to squeeze the bike in there and 2. it's a good way get your interior full of dust, mud, grease, etc...

Point being everywhere I look (online) seems to only offer a hitch for non-si models. Can anyone tell me why? It'll cost me in the neighborhood of 300 dollars to get a custom made hitch at a local draw-tite dealer.

I don't plan on hauling around anything more than a bicycle, but just wondering why is everything for a non si????

thanks

no good?

check into hidden hitch, it should be the same for all civic 2drs regardless of si or ex

maybe the way the bike mounts on the back of the car it hits the wing?

I'd prefer not to do a roof rack. I had one on my '98 CX (which was stolen and stripped... have to post pics later) and it killed my gas mileage and was pretty noisy.

I also ran one bicycle into the top of my sis' garage...

I can't address the SI/non-SI question but I put the Hidden Hitch on my EX along with this rack:

http://www.performancebike.com...22745

I've had it on there for about a month and I ride about twice a week (haul the bike to work, then to the ride). The rack folds up and I can disconnect it and throw it in the trunk if I don't want to leave it hanging off the car at the trailhead/work or if I dontt want someone to clip it trying to park behind me on the street (prevents bashed shins, too). The bike stays well off the car and I can open the trunk even with the 27" bars on my trailbike.

so much for a hitch not fitting on an si!!!! went on with no problems.

a local hitch dealer said they were going to have to move the stock muffler back a few inches to put on a normal '06 Civic hitch and that was going to cost me a bit over 200$.

Second option was going to get one custom made for my car and that would cost in the neighborhood of 350-400$.

So I went online, bought the hitch for 98$, and i expected to have to cut the exhaust myself with a hacksaw (then take it into a muffler shop), but it ended up fitting perfectly!

now i can haul around my bike!

I forgot to mention that I had to remove a heat shield that was around the muffler (not sure if it's on non-Si's) as well as a huge plastic dust shield that is underneath the rear side of the car. The heat shield would not go back on because of the way the hitch is mounted to the frame, and the huge black plastic dust cover... well i just decided to leave that off as well.

Does anyone know a good reason to leave that on besides keeping the undercarriage a bit cleaner?

2006civiccoupe, the rack is going to be hauling around a Litespeed Vortex road bike and maybe my time-trial bike as well, i'll post up pics of how the car looks with two bikes when i get a chance.

It's made by Draw-Tite, purchased from Hitchfinder.com, part #24763
