whats your opinion on the zx7?
I sold my F3 about a month ago and its getting to the point where I am looking at its replacement. I have always loved the looks of these bikes and love the fact that they are fairly uncommon. I have only seen one porsonally and that was on the highway in sf. Whats your opinion of the?

definitely sit on one before you buy. they've got a very different rider position, with your hands waaaaaay out in front of your torso and down. the power is decent, though anemic compared to today's 600 SS's, but apparently the front suspension is one of the best ever designed and produced.
i've got a '99 ZX-7R
as mentioned above today's 600's are about as/if not more powerful.
the bike is freakin' heavy, but on the highway the weight does make
me feel more confident.
seating position feels pretty comfortable to me, don't feel overly strecthed
out as compared to other bikes i've been on or SS's.
as mentioned, if you can get a chance to ride or get a feel of one B4 you buy
do so.
for the + side
i don't see any other ones (not in my neck of woods anyway) something different
loads of power, enough for me anyway
quick pic of mine

oh, almost forgot..... these things run hot.
hope that helps.

my buddy whos a kawi tech/ drag bike builder said steer clear of the zx7s. go for the 6r/9r/. go for 98+ on the 6r and 00+ on the 9rs. this is info coming from him, so u dont have to take my word for it,

Anything is underpowered for you, you ride a turbo'd Busa.
I've always like the looks of these bikes
, but just be ready for all the Kawi haters on here

heavy? yes, but still lighter than a hayabusa.
slow? maybe in a straight line, but im sure it handles pretty well compared to your two wheeled land yacht.
underpowered? only compared to a bike thats turbo'd and almost twice the displacement.

i had one as my first bike, and thats exactly what i reccomend it as... your first sportbike.
I was constantly being left behind by my friends fuel injected 600s..which was fine by me. i was never into the ' go 354mph everywhere' deal.. i like wheelies. But even that... first gear was awkwardly unresponsive, and 2nd gear (yes, i clutch up ALL my wheelies), was only possible when the sun and moon were aligned correctly. 3rd gear wheelies were a dream on the far far horizon.
Its ridiculously heavy (at least heavy feeling) for what it is, and felt doggy after riding the newer 600s.
My Advice: if you insist on a 750 go for a fuel injected gixxer *gasp*........ or if your really baller... the ever so rare r7 and convert it to street. Too bad ive only seen one

I just dont get this unexerienced attituide...
slower than another bike, heavier than the current generation motorcycles... hogwash.
If you want a track bike you ould get away with some thing cheaper adn more easily repaired...
if your talking about a street bike, your good to go on this bike. This isnt a **** fight or an egofest...

How is me opinion unexperienced? First, its my opinion , and second, i did own the model of bike in question.
All I said, is that I felt for what it is (or what it was intended to be), it just wasnt the best bike. What does one of these go for these days? mid 3grand? maybe 4......
I purchased my 03 636 with 2800miles for 3100$. Deals like that are rare, so regardless, I think that the OP may be better off going with a fuel injected 600. F4i'sare more comfy than most other sportbikes, in the same pricerange, and are easily as quick as the zx7r. Either that, or mine was just a complete dog.
