Default Any K20 Gen4 out there?

I've seen a couple Gen5 K20 swaps, but no Gen4s. Is anyone out there doing this swap? Would it even be worth it compared to an H22a or type S?

If you have this swap, please post pics, or a link to the thread that does. Opinions and comments are welcome.

Downsizing a Prelude to a 2.0 liter is against the imigration laws...

say it took you a month to put that engine & get it running properly;
put that swap money into an H22, expletive even an H23... and you'll have a waaaay faster car in that same month.
the only practical K swap is a K24A2
or a K23
even a K20R develops torque too late in the curve.

4000 was cheapest i could find for an rdx(it had 60000 miles on it) The add didn't say anything about tranny so i don't know if its with tranny or not

ill see if i can get my god damn camera and computer to mate and produce some net photos some time this year. Its a cool looking motor and very rare!

The tranny is unuseable anyway....a Turbo K23 would be dope though, just not in a Prelude!

Maybe an AWD Prelude?! I think theres a NULL market for a tranny from an 07 Model that came with a 4yr/50k mile warranty.....But who knows!

yeah, good point about tranny. I guess i'm a bit of a pack rat though. never hurts to have an extra surplus of motor parts lying around the shop

whats with "maybe"?! you talk like it hasn't been attempted or even thought about
AWG would give it retarded take off times and the plus' would definitly out way the minus' (maybe not costs however)

But I'm sure some young rich americans could afford the costs anyway. I couldn't nor would i attempt to with a 14 year old car lol

The only AWD attempt at a Prelude was a Mitsu 4g63 swapped in Thailand.....
Honda Tuning did the AWD Integra a few years ago......
Possible yes......Expensive and worthwhile NO.
A Prelude on slicks runs the same 60' times as AWD S00bs/EVO's.

same 60' times?? awd is useless than for the prelude

I thought for sure its 60' time would improve over FWD

why doesn't it make up time off the line?? the launches should be amazing with good tires/slicks!! I guess added weight slows it down.

well heres how i look at it. You can get an h22 and drop 5k into it and have something really quick. At that same point you have a stock k20 into the car. But supposedly hitting very nice whp numbers is pretty easy with the kseries with just bolt ons, they respond very well from what i hear.

Yeah but say Money wasnt an issue? Would it be worthwhile?

The only reason I brought this up is because I thought itd be cool... purely a hypothetical situation.

If money isn't an issue, just boost a h series?

Or buy a better car? :/

Werd, I plan on boosting my H22a. BUT money for me is a issue... so that will come with time.

I was just looking for K series Ludes!

Plus the swap might actually create a fast all-motor Prelude, and we know how terrible that would be!

sorry to burst your bubble, but the k20 is not that special
to get a fast all motor anything you will need to build the motor, so the stock specs are irrelevant.........now all you have is 2.0 liters to start with, now if you were to do a hybrid k20/24 that would be a different story, but still not cost effective

That would be cool. I was thinking about something like that for my sisters 1986 Gen2... They came with 2.0s
