Default VAFC II !!HELP!! dial is flashing green and red

ok the car has been sitting with the bat disconnected since feb and I put some cams in today (they finaly arrived) and the car will not start. I noticed the vafc isnt working properly. The dial on it turns on when i turn the key on but the vafcs screen is blank...the dial just flashes green and then red a few times. what could be the problem??

UPDATE)))))))))))(((((((((((((((june 1))))))(((((((7pm central))((
ok i soldered everything.... so that cannot be it as far as by the ecu soldering...now, i heard it could be a fuse

UPDATE --- found out i didnt have spark..so i replace coil and modual along with cap and rotor and now i have spark...well i tried to start he,r she moaned like i was giving it all to her...now i have smoke comming out my intake..so i stop cranking on her and look at the timing belt...the timing looks MINT.. do my valves sound like they are fkked?? i did a comp test cold the other day 102 107 135 135 1234 but i did it in order 4321

ok i talked to my tuner..he said check your soldering. I check my wires..everything seems to be ok ..there is the orange and baby blue that come from the vafc that arent connected to anything...the wiring diagram says they are the TDC signal and VTD signal... still puzzled over this ..any info might be helpful

the vafc has a memory for the set up..so i don't think it is that... one thing i did notice was that the wires are not soldered in, they are just crimped using a lil peice of metal...

i didnt install this vafc but i guess imma try to solder the wires up and well see how that goes...

If i were you i would solder them all in because those connectors suck ***. I used to have a VAFC and is was crimped with those gay things and after a while one came loose but i couldnt tell which one becasue it was still cpnnected but some how the wire was not making contact. So i just solderd them all in and everything was fine.

I had what I thought was a similar issue with my 1st gen. V-AFC, after checking all the wiring it turned out a fuse went out (not related to the V-AFC at all even though it seemed so). Good luck, hope everything works out.

i fkkin soldered every thing by the ecu that needed to be... but no display

I think it has something to do with a fuse too but all the ones under the driver side look good... what fuse did you replace..

get rid of it... vafc is just for show however tunes with them should die j/k(but they are crap)

check all fuses with something better than yer eyes.. if it still not starting just take it out of the equation... and check if it works..

ALWAYS check all fuses first.. shouldn't take u over 5 mins with a multi-meter.

Well from most of vafc that i have installed and seen most dont have this problem. But i have came across one that has had this same issue, You can try to reset the afc to see if this cures the problem but most likely it wont and i havent really gone into what was wrong with it other then recheck wires to see if they are installed properly and in the right location like the way the ground is suppose to be installed and the power. But all and all if this doesnt fix anything then just replace the unit itself. I really dont think that there is anything wrong with it other then the display is worn from being used for a long period of time. But if you end up replacing the unit diffinitly look towards like a ems system like hondata...
But to the reason your car wont start double check your timing and make sure that the valves were readjusted to spec. Saying that means that you adjusted it in the right order. If that is all correct then check all your connections make sure all your grounds are tight and firing order is correct.
I dont know if this info would help but give it a try if you need anything else fill free to email me or pm me..

When you installed your new cams did you adjust the lash properly? compression #'s were pretty low. I'd do a leak down on it too.

However low compression shouldn't stop it from starting up.

Your motor is f@!#ed. Your compression number in cylinder #1 is way off of the other three. I would pull the head off and see what's going on inside.
