Default This Is My 91 Civic DX Hatchback Build

I bought a 1991 Civic DX back in 2005. I saved up to do a motor swap, so I went with a JDM 2nd generation B16A. As you all know, the DX version is dual point fuel injection. Well, a friend and I stripped my entire wiring harness and built it back up to be multi-point fuel injection, added vtec and all the plugs for the B16, and converted it to OBD1. Just the wiring harness alone took us about 8 hours. I tore the front end of the car down, took out the D15B2, and after everything was good to go on the motor, I put the B16 in. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. And now, here are the pics of everything I've done. Keep in mind I did this swap completely by myself accept for the wiring harness. I took my time and finished this project in 2 months.

Does that last pic show that you made a road draft tube for your crankcase ventilation??

No, the hose wasn't long enough to put on the intake system, so I just set it to the side for the time being. Also, thanks everyone for the comments so far.

You can definately feel a difference going from a D to a B. A lot more acceleration and speed. I take a lot of pride in this build. This is my very first one and it has been a huge success for me. Thanks again for everyone's comments.

how did that linkage work out for you?

I am asking because mine sits forward to much, it does not sit right over the hole. When I shift into first or 3rd I hit the console going around the shifter.

I bought my shift linkage from JHPUSA.com and it works just like it should. It rubs under the car on the side of the hump just a little, but nothing major and no modifications needed.

I know I still owe you a ride. Don't worry, you'll get to. I'm going to Chicago next week, I still got some tweaking to do when I get back.

Good to see some Abilene people fixing up imports.

That's were I'm from and when I head back down there, usually all I see are ricers and people with old school muscle.

There are very few real imports around here. Mostly just kids who have an intake and an exhaust that think their something special. I've always wanted to do something like this. I had an 02 Civic LX Coupe that I was going to fix up, but it got t-boned by a chevy truck. All it did to the truck was bust his radiator, and totaled my car. Anyways, thanks for everyones comments, I really appreciate the support.

Sure do. And if I don't have the tools I need, I just go to the hobby shop on base. They have lifts and anything you could possibly need.
