Default my track times from the weekend...come and see!!

Went to Import Wars put on at New England Dragway yesterday. Got a bunch of runs in at the end so that was fun. Here are some of my times:

Run 1

R/T .872
60' 2.434
330 6.492
1/8 9.765
mph 75.64
1000 12.558
1/4 14.925
mph 95.03

Run 2

R/T .884
60' 2.543
330 6.536
1/8 9.816
mph 75.31
1000 12.618
1/4 14.980
mph 95.2

Run 3

R/T .766
60' 2.355
330 6.549
1/8 9.897
mph 73.69
1000 12.744
1/4 15.141
mph 94.46

Run 4

R/T .621
60' 2.427
330 6.452
1/8 9.720
mph 75.30
1000 12.514
1/4 14.878
mph 94.99

My friend Chris had Run 4. First time dragging my car and he beats my best of the day, damn him!! He's a very good driver though and I suck so to be that close I was surprised. Run 3 boggles me, I thought I would have had a new best of the day for me on that one because I could tell I was quicker in the 60' but I guess I just sucked on my 2-3 shift or somethin'. I dunno, but that run doesn't seem to add up.

My set-up
94 Civic DX Coupe ( has none of the following: AC, PS, PW, PL, moonroof)
B18c1 w/ I/H/E (stock cat, gotta get rid of that), that's all it's got.
skunk2 coilovers w/ tokico blues
16" rims (15.5lbs) with 205/45/16 yoko A520
weight w/o me: 2270

Not sure if the engine is stock, but it's REALLY strong. Chipped OBD2 ecu, redline at 8300 or 8400 rpm. I was shifting at about 8300 rpm.

The car has much more potential given the trap speeds and how hard it can pull. I know people are gonna say you should be getting this time or I've done so much better with this and you should be faster but the shocks suck, the suspension bushings are all shot and fast times at this particular track can be rare. I dunno why, but everyone's times seem to be off except for rare occasions.

I think with better shocks and poly bushings my times are gonna be more in line with what the car is capable of. Had a hard time getting low 60' times. In my previous all stock GSR getting a 2.3 60' wasn't that hard. Maybe the suspension bushings, dunno. Just thought I'd share!!

Hey... I had the same exact car. 1994 Civic DX Coupe. And not to try and throw it in your face, but I ran 14.55's on the DX steel wheels with a 100% stock LS swap w/ a clutch and no muffler. Later went 12.80's with a VTEC head. Keep it up though... with your setup you should be down into the 13's.

Yeah don't worry about the times... I'm running a B16A in a CRX and until just a while ago I couldn't even pull 14s... now I'm at 14.6 with almost no changes. It's all about the driver, and the more you get out there the faster you'll be

Hey, sweet setup you got. But i just cant understand the high 14s. A b18c in a DX coupe (I assume its DX because you say there is no moonroof) should get you to low 14 high 13. You might wanna check your fuel delivery system. The stock DX fuel pump and fuel lines were designed to supply juice to 1.5 liter economy motor that redlines at 6800, your badass 1.8 liter vtec motor needs more fuel, especially at 8000 rmp. I dont know if youve changed the fuel pump, but that would be a good idea. If you havent switched the pumps and lines I can safely say your runnin LEAN. Try to get an aftermarket fuel pump or one off of an Integra, and upgrade the fuel lines and the fuel rail. Hopefully this will help. Good Luck, and dont worry youl be seen 13s yet. later

I definitely believe that driver plays a key part when driving Hybrids. I had never driven a VTEC car before, and my first time out I got 14.5s, I know she is quicker than that and I just need practice.

I've got a B18C in my EX coupe, with the standard I/H/E and AC/PS, etc... and the best I could do so far was a 14.97. I ran that on my stock wheels too. I know I can do better, with better tires and more track time, and I'm sure your DX will too...

It's a b18c1 (GSR motor, not the JDM motor). I don't know about 13's, it's only stock! On slicks, maybe! But I would doubt it. It's a DX, i listed that after all the times, check out my whole setup. I don't know which fuel pump it is, i would assume it's been replaced with a better one because I think it would have died by now, the swap has been in there for a while. I know a 14.6 is possible with the trap speeds I have. Well, we'll see what happens over the summer!!

Thanks for all the comments!!

As regards the b18c1, even the USDM model has some decent torque. A friend of mine is running a 91 4 DOOR with a b16a1 motor, intake, no cat, no
AC or PS and he got 14.5 on stock honda rims and tires. Your car should be closer to the low 14s. As for the fuel, the pump might have been changed, or not. My friend with the 4 door was runnin on his stock LX pump for 2 years without much problem, but recently he swaped in an Integra LS fuel pump and took another .2 seconds of the 1/4 mile time. Sport Compact Car Magazine in their April issue had a detailed article about coverting a DX to a GSR, which included upgrading the fuel lines. YOu might wanna check it out at their website. Another easy way to get some more power is messin with the spark timing. If you have access to a dyno (or know a shop that does) a 1 hour tuning session would really help. Good luck with that bad-*** hybrid. .
