Pictures of my new Kirk Racing roll cage for the ITA CRX! (large pics)
Well, I have described this cage several times now to people who have asked about it, but I never had pictures. I picked it up last night from the freight place, and here it is. The only thing missing is the nASScar style door bars, since I have to send Kirk the exact measurements once the cage is installed. For those of you who haven't heard the description, it's a bolt-in/weld-in hybrid. As you can see, the main hoop, petty bar, and rear cross brace all bolt together to make them easy to install and easily removed (petty bar out for autocross passengers, etc.). The foot plates bolt in, but they will be welded to the floor on top of larger plates, and all bolt-in sleves in the main hoop will be welded in place once installed. Also, the dash bar, ps side X, and dr side nASScar bars will all be welded in. Total cost, shipped was just over $800. Pretty damn good, if you ask me. I'll post the weight later, when I get a chance to get the pieces on the scale.
Here are the pics:
As you can see, I had to tape the ps X in place since it must be welded. The dash bar is just wedged in place. In the background is my Autopower bar from the ITR (already sold, sorry).
What do you think?

One of the nicest looking bolt-ins I've seen. Although...God help you come time to install it. Looks like a job for a lot of

The way Kirk does the sleeves (compared to the Autopower) gives up a tiny bit more stiffness for a lot easier install. That stiffness will be made up by welding the seams. Overall, I'm VERY happy.I got all of the parts on the scale, and the combined total with hardware is 154#. That's not a trivial amount, but it's still pretty good considering that's about the weight of a passenger. I guess we'll have to wait and see what the total weight of the car is before I can say if I care or not. I have to make minimum weight for ITA.

Looks like it makes an excellent coffee table!
Do you know how much it weighs? Looks to be very well done.

As for weight...see post above.
Looks pretty good! I wonder if you are going to have enough room to weld the top of the sleeve right by the roof. You might have to cut the 'stock' plates off & hole saw the floor. Please keep the pics coming & let us know how it goes.

That is what I ended up doing with my Autopower. The stuff that we could reach 360* was welded. The rest was bolted & welded as best we could.
Nice
No passengers with that bar.

What? That thread is 3 years old. Try http://www.ioportracing.com for an Autopower bolt-in cage or bar.
He got his Kirk Racing cage from Kirk Racing. I can't remember what the Kirk Racing web page address is but I think it had some "w" and a ".com" but I can't remember the rest of Kirk Racing's web address. Perhaps Google might be able to find the Kirk Racing web page... Kirk Racing
