ITR Expo 2003 - Censorship
So we started voting to find out where the entire membership wants to have the event, and Mike said
and locked the thread.
Why can't we find out where the entire membership wants the event, instead of where one person wants it? What's wrong with allowing people to express their opinion? I think we've got a case of a moderator who doesn't want to let others disagree with his own opinion and his desire to make all the decisions on behalf of the membership without letting that membership be heard.
Funny how those who scream about freedom of speech when they want to say something (no matter how inappropriate) are the first ones to try to shut others up when they don't want other opinions to be heard...

Exactly, and the fact that I've already said that I would like to set the next one up.

Weren't you complaining about the immaturity of other members on the board?!

Grow up! Mike's decision seemed logical, and quite MATURE if you ask me.

Summit Point gets my vote.
VIR is a close 2nd
I agree with Mike, and think we should have more than one event.
Forget the "ITR" expo, its time for the HONDA-TECH EXPO

Any moderator who is involved in an issue being discussed has a conflict of interest, and should let one of the other moderators make any decisions on whether or not that thread should be locked. Otherwise it's just too convenient a way for that moderator to prevent the airing of other opinions that disagree with his.
I agree - very logical for someone who wants to call the shots without letting other opinions be heard.

I vote that we let everybody vote.
In the event of a plurality, but no majority, I think it would be safe to assume that the VIR votes would swing to Summit Point if Summit Point had more votes, and that the Summit Point votes would swing to VIR as a second choice if VIR had more votes, but not a majority.
Does that make sense?
Or does this only make sense in the House of Lords?

IMHO, it's very obvious that there cannot be ONE event per year for both coasts. I think it's best to have one on the East and one on the West each year. As I've said this many times before, unless we can get Honda of America to sponsor an event, we're never gonna get more than 50 ITRs under one roof. Kinda sad, but that's the reality.
make it stop!
A committee has chose for the masses the last 2 years and it is only fair it keep travelling around the states so everyone can make it. East/southeast is the next logical place to head with the expo.
Ken, you need to move on if you can't behave more maturely . . .

West Coast gets my vote!
Well, I'd like for it to be a Honda-Tech Expo instead of an ITR Expo, but I don't think that's happening, either.

What I propose is for 2003 have an East Coast and West Coast Expo, maybe a few months in between. This way some people can go to both if they choose and others can just go to the closest event.

WEST COAST ITR EXPO!
Otherwise anybody interested in having a Canadian ITR expo? We could perhaps meet somewhere in the middle of BC Because the rest of the country is still buried in snow!
