Default Have I got the newer Spoon N1?

Courier just came and delivered this:

It has the hole for the screw for the silencer, but is my N1 the newer one or older one? I noticed that just after the flange it tapers down in size:

I'm going to have to say that looks like a bottleneck. The newer Spoon n1 mufflers don't have that.

Do earplugs come in the package as well? If they don't I recommend some high quality aftermarket ones.

Yes may need the silencer, will decide once its installed.

Does anyone know if the older Spoon N1s had the hole for the silencer? Im praying that I have the newer N1

i seem to recall that on older N1s you have to drill a hole for the silencer, which would lead me to believe you have the newer one....i am not 100% sure though

I think its the older version. Mine has the bottle neck too.

The newer version( i have had both of them in my habds at the same time) seems to hve larger piping along with no bottle neck.

I had the same one you had, and mine had a pre-drilled hole for the silencer. So that cancels out the possiblity of having the newer one with a pre-drilled hole and an older one without. I remember xjohnx had one without the bottleneck, im pretty sure that was the newer one.

You're gonna love the Spoon N1, thinking about going back to it myself. The silencer makes it almost like stock. Gotta love spoon.

i wonder if spoon sells any of the sport models? nearly double the price for less performance and quiet sound... a sound which can be had for a lil extra on the racing silencer.

I tried that muffler first. I was very happy, I got what I wanted, a nice pollished muffler that looked stock, and sounded stock. I then switched to the N1, and only use it ont eh track. I switch back to stock when using the car on the street.

that N1 is for DC5, I just brought it to the shop today and 2 of them were sold straight hahaha, but I have a lot more stuff coming real soon.

surprisingly it is not that loud on the DC5, but pretty loud on DC2.

- Will the "older" Spoon N1 scrape over humps easier than the stock?

- Is it louder? Better performance? And is it street legal?

- Is using the silencer optional?
