The sound is hella nice...low..deep...quiet..not as quiet as GReddy, APEXi RS/WS, or Tanabe's but really really quiet..if you're cruising, you cant hear it unless you push it...without a resonator, it gets pretty loud... personally hate loud exhausts...but without a cat...I dont even want to imagine...here's mines..

Unless your car is hella fast, dont go with the 2.5...2.25 is perfect for the average street honda..

having bigger tubing doesnt do much unless you have forced induction.

I have a Tanabe Racing Medallion knock-off with custom 2.25" piping and the stock GSR header and cat. converter. I run it with the silencer in all the time and it's pretty quiet until you really punch the throttle. I was wondering how loud one of the ES oval's would be since I don't have a resonator? Would it be a good idea to put on a resonator with the ES? If so, which brand makes a good resonator because I never see them for sale anywhere?

I am running a 2.25 inch catback piping with a resonator through a 2.5 inch ES oval muffler...man..let me tell you..it sounds sweet....sounds deep...and kinda raspy at high rpms...but its very quiet..until you punch it at full throttle.....looks very stealthy and sounds very crisp and tuned..not loud, annoying, high pitched, and ricey..and very bearable on the highway cruising at 60-70mph....i have been through 2 mufflers before the ES oval..and dammit..3rd time is a charm..the ES will be a keeper..the first two mufflers were Hayame...they were too loud for my taste....

It doesn't have a tip - just a 2.25" or 2.5" inlet and outlet.

I need to be pointed in the right direction. I have been looking at the ES now for a couple weeks and my car doesnt have any performance upgrades yet. If i just get the ES it will be loud right? I need to know what type of resonator and catback/piping to get. I dont know much about catback/piping at all can someone fill me in and how much would this cost me? Thanks so much and the es sounds awesome!

yes you can. it costs $100 for just the muffler, but like another $50 or so to mount it to your stock piping
