Looking at testing the Project R next weekend at the CMP trackday, looking to run the LS DC4 17mm front sway bar vs. the front stock ITR 22mm.
The car has Skunk 2 adjustable coilovers, 500lbs rear and 400 front. Looking to get feedback on the rearend step out or oversteer that i will be getting.
Willard ran stock springs/shocks with 17mm and liked the rotation, i am running a little bit of a larger spring rate.....just thought i would ask. I am sure about the differance but with the longer wheel base of the Integra it should be any different then an EG with 800lbs springs and stock ITR suspension..... correct?
Thanks, Andy

correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't a DC4 (LS/RS non-vtec) Integra have a OEM 22mm front sway bar like a Civic, and a ITR/GSR have a OEM 24mm front sway bar?
Come to think about it, yes I'm right
Edit: all-non ITR integras have 17mm rear sway bars

13mm rear and ?????????mm Front......LS
13mm rear and 24 front gsr
24mm front 22 mm rear .......itr i think
not sure.....i know you can tell a differance just looking at the two next to eachother.....so the LS is smaller.

I actually need something smaller than that. I like the way my car rotates but it can use a tad bit more understeer.

yeah, i am going to try the 22mm/22mm set-up.........and see how that rolls, might try taking it off for a session this weekend to see how crazy it gets: DRIFTO>
Wow, I can actually help with this one
Anyway, I'm running an EK hatch, so I'm sure there are differences...
Anyway, the current suspension is k sports 11k front, 7k rear, 22mm rear itr sway bar with asr plate, and before i was running a civic si front 26mm sway. I auto-x so no track experience, but from before, it felt like it would fight rotating like I wanted it to. I would almost end up drifting the front wheels around corners if that doesn't sound too strange.
From there, I recently switched to a 22mm front sway bar. Got it from a 4 door civic at the junk yard, but most 4 door ek's and I think the ex ek coupe as well have 22mm fronts.
Anyway, now the car rotates a LOT better. I feel like I can push more through turns even though it feels looser up front. The only bad side I've noticed with the switch is the side to side G's transition (like a hard right followed by a hard left or vice versa) feel a little stranger now. It felt more solid before with the 26mm front with hard transitions. All in all, I really like the new change. Not sure about 17mm. That's a huge change. But try it and hold on to the old bar just in case
(thanks aron for the suggestion)

I am the type of person who firsts want to tune my suspension with the spring rate and then tune it with the sway bars. (I kept 24mmF/23mmR and just kept raising my spring rates until I got comfortable....then the next step would have been to play with my sways).
Obviously if your car is street driven you have to compromise for safety and comfort on the street, therefore can't run very stiff rates.
If I were you.... and since springs probably cost as much as a sway bar... I would probably buy 600# and 800# springs, run the 600# for the front and #800 for the rear and play around with swapping the front sway.
Reasons:
1. Under heavy braking at the track you want some spring rate on the front to take away some of the twitchiness experienced from the weight transfer. (800# is ideal in front, but may be too stiff for street).
2. the 600/800 bias will give you some oversteer (and especially if you choose to buy/run with a smaller front sway). also the 600/800 bias is not so dramatic that you will spin on every single lift-off mistake (and you will make the lift-off mistake)
3. 600/800 is not too stiff for the street and if it is, swapping springs takes only 2+ hours or so (at most) to go back to softer setup.
4. Having the stock sway (24mm) w/ 600# up front should help with stability... car won't be leaning over as much.
Just some thoughts.

I run an HF front sway bar (17mm hollow) and a Whiteline Adjustable rear sway bar (set at the same effective rate as a 24mm rear at the moment).. just switched front 12kf/10kr to 12kf/14kr and the car rotates even better now..
A DX/Si 18mm front bar would probably work just as well..

Thanks for the info..........

you can run a eg si front sway bar....i think it is a 17 or 19mm
saw it this weekend on an eg, but the itr felt good for the few laps it ran...

EG's have the same wheelbase as the Integra, except the 92-95 coupe which is actually longer.

Please research before posting, this has been covered in other posts.
I just proved this at the shop the other night when someone said the same thing and we found that the Shop manual was right!

Do you have a 94-01 Integra Sedan? Because that car is 103.1". The 3-door Integra is 101.2".
This is *straight* from the Helms manual (and every other 100 online sources).
The 92-95 Civic (again, straight from Helms):
3 Door: 101.2"
4 Door: 103.1"
