Modifying OBD2 Injector clips to work with OBD1 injectors?

I have heard of some people modifying their stock OBD2 injector clips to work with RC OBD1 style injectors. Does anyone know how to do this? I know you can buy the clips and splice them into the stock harness but I do not like the idea of cutting into the stock harness if at all possible. I also know you can buy the conversion harnesses from RC that don't require any cutting but they are quite expensive. Some people have mentioned that they just removed the blue inner portion of the clip and it worked fine but I'd like to know what they had to do to remove it. If it's relatively easy to do, great, If not, I'd still like to know what's involved so I can make some decisions.

Well I modified my clips tonight thanks to some advice from v.i. gsr and it was really easy. They pluged right into my OBD1 RC injectors with a little wiggling. All you have to do is use a really small flat head screw driver, look into the injector clip at the blue piece in the middle and you'll see a small in-dent in each side of it. Just stick the screwdriver in that little indent and start prying, going side to side and they will pop right out (blue piece). Then you should be good to go.

So you remove the blue clip piece in the middle of the plug? Does anyone have a picture showing this? Thanks.

Yes, that's exactly what you do. I didn't have my camera with me which is why I gave such detailed instructions on how to do it. TRUST ME, when you look closely at the sides of the injectors and pry on the blue inserts with a fine flat head precision screw driver, you'll see how easy it is. They'll literally pop right out with very little effort.

I'll have some pics posted shortly, but I just tested this out real quick and it definitly does work.
As already mentioned, remove the blue clip inside the OBD2 inj clip then just slowly wiggle the clip onto the OBD1 injector. The clip will not 'click' into place though, but will fit regardless. I suggest maybe zip tieing the clip down so it doesn't come off due to motor vibrations later on down the line..

even though you take out the blue part to fit obd1 injectors, is there a way to switch back the blue part after you are done using them. for example putting the oem obd2 injector back in

Try asking the question in the FI section (forced induction). Ask if anyone's run those injectors off of honda obd1 clips or if they had to splice Mitsu clips in their honda harness.
