Default VW VR6 Lip

I know a lot of you other ED guys run this lip on your cars. I ordered one off ebay and I am having a hell of a time trying to get the bitch to fit. Does anyone have any write ups on installing the VR6 lip or someone that can tell me what they did to get theirs to fit. It looks like I'm going to have to cut a 1/2" off the ends of the lip the way its lining up.

sure is.

you have to cut off the ends at the wheel wells.. its too long. other then that it should line up pretty good with the bumper.. just screw some of it on and then bend it and screw the other half inplace.

I'll definitely post pics when I'm done. I realized I'm going to have to trim the edges, not a big deal. It's going to look hot. I think I'm going the front bumper off and line it up real nice and screw it in like that.

i wouldnt bother taking the bumper off.. just maybe jack the car up so you have room to get a drill under there
says 20 dollars for shipping to US.. so it wasnt 60 dollars shipped.

I paid $39.95 + $19.95 shipping. Unless I suck at math that's about $60.

Here's what I paid: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW

If somebody wants to bring one by to me and let me test fit it on their car, I'll make them in 1-piece polyurethane.

For me, I had to cut off the little tabs where the lip attatches (if you don't, they rub against the splash guard), I can find pics.. I didn't have to trim the edges but it's not exactly flush either:

Can't really tell from far:

You can make the bend fit better. You just twist it and all that, mine fits better than that one. Just use 10 self tapping screws, 5 a side, fits great. Nice and snug but still flexes. A cut-off wheel on a die grinder cuts like a hot knife in butter.

Yup, on mine I taped off the line following the bumper and put a cut-off wheel on my dremel and cut away.

I'm going to try using heat to get the lip where I want it. I'm going to try my hardest to not have to cut anything.

You will have to cut it, you dont need heat to get it to fit either. You're just making more work for yourself. The lip looks good upside down too, but mine was too scraped along the bottom to pull it off. Someone should try it.

If you want to by all means do. But you really dont Need to. as you can see mine turned out fine. Just use good self tapping screws.

PICS AS PROMISED!!!!

It needs alittle more adjusting done on the passenger side to get rid of small amount of gap. Then the ends need to be cut. This will all be done tomorrow but here's a pic as it sits now.
