Default Cold air or short pipe intake for del Sol?

What's ther recommended type of intake for a del Sol. The slot on the stock compartment where the cold air intake goes, has little if any air ventilation because of the front bumper's design. Whereas the short air intake may take in unwanted warm air. So now the question is, which is better?... or does it not matter?

It's not so much as how much air goes through a certain area. It more of what temperature the air that gets sucked in is. Cold air is better.
