That statement should answer every single thought you have. You get what you pay for.

Anyway, post a picture up of it and will help you out. Sounds like the main issue your having is where to connect all the coolant lines right after the throttle body. If you mess them up you will throw a CEL (Check Engine Light).

yeah that is the problem, everything after the throttle body is confusing. it was like 20 bucks on ebay (temporary until i save for K&N or AEM) and i will try to get some pictures up tomorrow.

here is the link of the actual auction. you may find it a little humorous lol.

http://cm.ebay.com/cm/ck/1065-...03812

by the way if anyone is selling a used intake for pretty cheap let me know

thanks

you couldve just left your car stock and used that 20 for extra driving time instead of the time wasted trying to get a item that probably will throw a cel to work

^^^^P0411 Cel code to be exact

and from what I remembered, the cel is going to read "secondary air line" or something within those lines

Secondary Air Injection System Malfunction. There's no connection for the air pump source.

the problem with those cheap filters is when it heats up, the top comes off b/c it is glued to the rest of it. k&n filters are molded into one rubber piece so it wont come apart. but the piping for the good stuff comes off the same line as the cheap stuff. my cousing works for exhaust tech. they sell to dc, injen, local ricer shops and ebay sellers in mass quantities. same ****, just powder coated different colors. you pay extra for the stickers, license plate frames you'll never use unless you are are trying to show off, the colored paint, cheese puff packaging, cool logos, the couplers and hoses when you get the "good stuff." that is what the big name companies add in their kits. you dont really think they actually make their own stuff do you? exhaust tech is a major production line for aluminum tubing.

when all else fails and you get people that tell you one 3" mandrel bent pipe is better than the colored one next to it, rely on your common sense. will air flowing into your car know the difference? is the tubing the same diameter? are the couplers material going to affect air flow and will the air even touch the coupler?

unfortunately people like to buy what everyone says is cool and if it cost more, they swear it is. i can tell you that several of the big name companies make a living on high priced crap. i wont name names cough dc sports cough cough.... before you know it this place will be like jdmcivic where your car will have to look exactly like everyone elses or you are no longer cool.

pm me pics of you engine bay and i'll use the paint program to show you where it all goes. remember to think about whether or not the air knows that you intake is from ebay... it's not rocket science...

yeah i got the intake in over the weekend. my friend has a k&n in his and it was basically the same. had to cut a hole and push it through the fender. the only thing i had to do was buy some extra hoses which was 2 dollars. 22 dollar intake and it sounds sick. i also put a k&n filter on it.
