Default JUN Cam Owners Thread: List your setup/details

Stock JDM Block/Bottom End
2 Layer Head Gasket
SuperTech Valvetrain
Golden Eagle Cam Gears
BlackTrax Stage3 Intake Manifold(Removed IAB+added stacking plate)
2.75" Short Ram intake piping(Just changed to 3" CAI)
400cc Injectors
Vibrant Header into 2.5" Vibrant Exhaust
VTEC@5000rpms
Peak Power to 8300rpms+
204whp/156tq(Dynoject 248) Tuned with Hondata S300+P28
I have a great map for anyone that wants it...Save yourself some time and $$$...
My only planned change for this year is most likely a HyTech Header. Basically I am trying to see how far I can go with the Stock JDM Bottom-end and headwork.
I'm just curious as to what kind of setups you guys are using with the JUN Cams.

Jun cams are so nice, but they are so expensive. I might pick some up later in the year, but I am just worried about getting my car running again

If you can find them! Thats always the 1st issue to overcome.
I bumped into them for the right price so I bought them, before driving yourself crazy trying to find them I would look into Skunk2 Pro2's or something from the ROCKET MS lineup! The JUNs are awesome though! If I only had 11.5:1-12:1+CR to work with!!!
My shop is going to be installing a set on their EG Hatch with EuroR H22 working with about 11.5:1cr in the next month or so! I can't wait to see what happens with that!! Considering it went 12.1@108 last year with bolt-ons, it should be exciting!!

Ive thought about them. Not sure on what cams just yet. I know I am going to be working with 11:1 CR at least. I have heard the pro series cams are just as aggressive as Juns, but this is just hearsay. I have no facts to back up that statement...

I saw the graphs of the Pro1's and about messed myself. They had such a nice power curve. Especially the midrange. I'm really hoping that the JUN's really open up the motor. Right now, with my stock motor, i can just feel how bad it needs a cam. now i'm adding 4.3mm of stroke, 2mm bore and a little over a point higher in compression. Should make for a fun engine.

The Birdman uses a set of JUN's in his RLZ'd H22.

I purchased all my JUN parts brand new.

This was my setup until i sold the head and traded the car in.

JUN 3 cams
JUN valve springs/retainers
don't remember what cam gears i had. They aren't made anymore but were bad *** at the time.
port and polished head
OEM Head Gasket
OEM valves ( per JUN specs )
Prospeed stainless header with merge collector ( pile of **** )
Hondata s200 with P72 ECU.
stock USDM bottom end

all my vac lines were *** backwards ( thanks to a local shop ) so my numbers were a bit under what was expected. I put out like 205 whp. At one point i had a skunk2 manifold on there which i pulled off and sold and replaced it with the OEM.

All in all, I needed more dyno time, and felt jipped on the build and amount of cash spent for what I got. If I could do it all over again, i wouldn't waste the time or the money.

Were you unhappy with the cams or the shop? I know you were running usdm compression..that is a limiting factor.

I don't have the graph handy but from what I remember:
JUN's made more power than the Skunk2 Pro2 except for a little 4000'ish spot where the Pro2's made a pinch more power. The Crower3's were less than both.

Clint in order for your shop guy to have cams he kinda has to pay me so I can then give them to you guys.

I <3 your setups and wish I would have done mine....but then who would I sell everything to....if its in a motor......sigh

I would have been awesome...lol

Sorry about the delay dude! Just talked to him again, he's been busy and will take care of it today or tomorrow. Thanks again from the both of us!

Nat, Did your setup PEAK at 7500 or Max at 7500??? I know the JUNs are good for 8500-8700RPMs. I assume with VTEC at 5500, you peaked at 7500 and made power to 8500 or so?! Awesome #'s though!! Great Torque!!

i deffinately think the header will produce a higher number. im getting bottle necked right now with the mugen.

Clint...i think the reason i peak so early and start to taper off is because if the header....i dunno maybe its the IM too since im only running a stage 1 where as you and travis are running our stage 3 well see once i get the header here. Danny making it now. hopefully ill have it by CMI on march 31st. otherwise im going to be doing weight redux.

Vinueuro: Our Dyno got a virus and ate all the graphs M-S so here is one of my old ones so you can guess its from last year but only thing we changed was added another spacer to the IM and did some cleaning up on the tune....but you see what i mean.

In response to the question asked of me.

I wasn't happy with the shop, that's a given. I wasn't happy with my tuner. I wasn't happy at the coin i dropped and the return i got either.

I could have spent a quarter of what i did and went with boost or bought an old V8 muscle car of some type and built that thing to the moon.

Oh well.

JUN stuff is still fantastic.

I am not sure where they are at, I know its not 0/0 though. IIRC I gave up a little 7000-8500 power for that nasty 4000-4500 gain we got from it. The BTP3+JUN+2.5" exhaust netted 17whp in that 4-4500 range which is where I like the extra power for RoadRacing! Makes Turn Exit NASSSSTTYYYY!!!
