What is the weight of the Kirk roll bar? Cusco makes a roll cage not sure about a roll bar, but its weight is very, very light compared to an Autopower 4pt. I used to have on my Gsr which was probably around 40lbs. or so.
I have an Autopower DOM 6-point bolt in cage and love it. I purchased it from Ken at ioport racing. Here's a link for ya...

However, do **NOT** put a max $ on your safety.
Also for those concerned about weight.. it's a damned safety device not a bling bling CF hood, steel is heavy, take chit out of the car and do other weight removing and all is good.. I honestly didn't notice the extra weight.

so how much is the kirk vs. ap vs. autopower??? I am willing to spend maybe around 11 or 12 hundred. Anyone have the prices??? Also do you guys feel a difference in the rigidity??? Thanks for all of the help guys
1100-1200?
You can get an AP rollbar for around $320ish, then spend the rest of the money on brakes/fluids/driving schools!!!

$1100 for a rollbar?!? You're in luck, you'd probably have to get one made of titanium to hit that price...the autopower i have was under 300 if i remember correctly. Our site has lots of pics of the install etc.

What is ther price of the Kirk? Their web site is not fully ready.
Why would one chose one over the other?
I know that the Autopower can be installed without cutting any panels. Can the Kirk?

I have the Autopower 4 Pt. "Race" cage with removable harness bar (which allows you to use the rear seat if you must). Price with options was $360 (plus $115 for shipping). Bought it from Ken at IOPort --> http://www.ioportracing.com . I was told it would take a month to get it. I had it in two weeks. Fit and finish was nice (heck, with no scratches during shipping I didn't even have to paint it). If you're just doing schools a 4 pt cage and a good set of harnesses should do it. The 4 pt is about 55 lbs as opposed to 100+ for the 6 pt. Plus you don't have to hop over the door bars to get in and out. It really stiffens up the back of the car ( to the point where I no longer feel the need for the rear upper tie bar).

but you should never have passengers with a 4pt or 6pt installed anyways (passengers in back that is).

who has seen too many rear passengers in rollover-protected cars
Does it increase or decrease the resale value?
Both of these roll bars can be removed pretty easily if they are bolted in.
I would venture to say that no modifications increase the resale value of a Type-R.
