Closure of the Broken JUN 3 cam story - Large pics - dialups beware
To all those who doubted JUN's customer service, this post is for you.
Short recap - I broke my exhaust Jun 3 cam on the dyno. (see https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=146137 and https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=147649). Eight exhaust valves got bent and one cam gear got damaged due to scraping on the timing belt cover.
Well, I have finally received my head from JUN. They replaced both cams with new ones, replaced both Skunk2 Cam gears with JUN cam gears, replaced the crower titanium retainers with JUN titanium retainers, and replaced the valvesprings with new JUN valvesprings.
They did a three angle valve job, and finessed the port and polish originally done by Canadian Cylinder head.
Here are the large pics for your enjoyment.

Good Chit! The damned pictures are bigger than the head!
Too bad you have to unbolt the cams to put the head back on. That way if they broke again for any reason, you could blame their torque values...

JUN has got to be one of the most awesome companies on the face of the planet.
My friend had some skunk2 cams that went ADDIOS on him and skunk2 denied their cams played anything part in the damage, even though the cam were destroyed into 2-3 pieces.
PROPS to JUN ... i guess all of my **** will be jun from now on. with customer service like that, there's no reason to wonder why you gotta pay a little extra for that kinda quality...

Nice to see there is still some customer service left in the "big" names of the industry... Maybe you should send them both here and abroad this link to show that good business promotes "good business"...

I noticed something wierd too. The cam which broke was a silverish colour, but the new cams are really dark. Could they be a newer revised version?
Sorry about the 2048x1536 images, I was so excited that I just posted them straight from my 3 megapixel camera
Post pics of the newer cams compared to the pictures of the old ones you had.

and here are the new ones
As you can see, the lobes are a lot darker

good **** man....they definitely took care of you in the best possible way and deserve much props, maybe even a thank you card. by the way, how long did it take for them to complete the rebuild?
When my Toda B's intake cam broke, I sent the cam picture to Toda Japan. All they said is "interesting, we will take a close look at the picture later." but they never get back to me after that. It have been over a year already, so I doubt I will ever hear from them again.
You should email JUN this thread. I bet knowing how much more bussiness this simple thread will give them due to their good service to a H-T member will encourage more good service in the future. Im very surpised an aftermarket company actually stood behind their product, especially when so many other factors could have been at work such as non JUN parts, faulty install, or abuse.
Awesome service
Silly question: They replaced all of that free of charge?
